I think that this Ipod dock is great it has all the facilities required and is nice and neat in our kitchen. Great sound, and looks great too!! Would recommend this.

worst experience ever!!!

Acquired in February, broken in June (probably just the power supply), returned to seller (Audio with Vision) the same month, forwarded by the seller to Roberts Radio 1st of July, not received back so far, which is end of July. Roberts Radio is incredibly unresponsive. Worst customer service. Beware of them...

Too Bright

(4 out of 5) by D. Annett on Jul 4, 2009
I wanted a dab radio with Ipod dock for the bedroom, that would sit on the bedside table. I was very pleased with the appearance, sound quality and functions however on the first night it was difficult to get to sleep due to the intense light emitted by the bright blue LED around the volume dial. This is 'ON' despite the unit being switched off and if you have a CD in, the CD lamp is also illuminated. Why these have to be on I have no idea and have contacted Roberts - even in any room I could see the light pollution a problem. The remote looks very dated and is not intuitive or well laid out. Shame about these simple design floors as would otherwise be a fantastic product.

Djbwhispers

My wife wanted a quality radio in the kitchen which had the ability to play CDs and incorporated an Ipod dock. I bought the MP53 based on reviews and listening to it in a major department store. We are delighted with the sound quality of both DAB and FM and the same applies to the CD/Ipod playback. I have had to re-position the supplied aerial a couple of times when presumably the transmitted signal strength varies. I am yet to try it in another room connected to my roof mounted DAB aerial.
I would thoroughly recommend this product to anyone: 5 star!

Great value, good performance

(4 out of 5) by Philip on Oct 30, 2009 (London)
It seems there's nothing this machine won't do: one of the few machines to support iPods, CD and DAB so it was an easy choice. I haven't yet tested the ability to record onto SD card but it's an interesting possibility. It's considerably cheaper than a Bose and sounds just as good. The DAB reception is great (admittedly I live in London, but the FM signal is surprisingly flaky here). My only concern is that you can't control it without the remote (other than simple on/off/volume) -- and that seems a bit cheap 'n' nasty, unlike the main unit which is very solid and seems really well made.
