Ace Acer

(5 out of 5) by Robert Cock on Apr 5, 2009 (Wiltshire UK)
After vacillating over replacing my old CRT monitor, and then which flat screen to buy, I finally opted for this, and am very happy with it. The resolution is fine for my advanced amateur photo editing, and the extra screen width compared to a square CRT makes photo editing and other tasks much more convenient. The colours seem pretty even from top to bottom and edge to edge, and the auto functions seem to work well. If I was looking for another widescreen LCD monitor in this price range, I'd be happy to buy this again.

acer screen

very simple to install, very sharp images, but slight colour fade in the left botom corner so I could not rate this a five

realistic!

if you want this monitor to work to its full potential, you must download the drivers for them, which you can only get for XP VISTA! if your not on vista, its still a plug and play but you will not achieve the resolution offered by the monitor! this being its only downfall!!

Good for the price

(4 out of 5) by Mydas on Sep 18, 2009 (Warwickshire, England)
Received very quickly, opened, pluged in and it sized and worked right away. Good picture for price. Widescreen takes a bit to get used to but if you watch BBC i-player this works a treat as it does with DVD's. Couple of cautions; there is no height adjustment so not ideal for a desk but best used with a purpose computer table which has a raised shelf for screens, so no good for work establishments. Also your operating system must support 1600x900 resolution otherwise you could end up with a stretched text or black bars on each side. The screen is 20 inches but because this is widescreen the effective height is similar or just a little less than a 17 standard so wouldn't recommend the smaller version of this screen.
