What a great looking mouse - but don't be fooled by its beautiful curves and colour.
My requirements were simple; I wanted a small retractable mouse for my laptop, preferably all black, from a good branded supplier. If you have the same wishes you'll know just how hard it is to source just that, so when I saw this Beklin I immediately knew it was for me. But it wasn't...
It's a lot smaller than I expected. I checked the measurements before buying it (approximately, using my eye!) and I was happy, but I strongly suggest anybody looking for a mini mouse to get a ruler and compare the measurements for this Belkin (7.5 x 4 x 3cm) against the mouse they are currently using. It's ideal for browsing the internet or completing minimal tasks on-the-go for a short period of time, but it doesn't have that level of comfort normal mice have.
Click your current mouse and listen to how it clicks. Why? Well, I bet you've never really paid much attention before to how your mouse clicks; simply because you've had no reason to. As soon as I took this Belkin out of the packaging and clicked it, I was greeted with this almighty clonk. I've never heard a mouse that `clicks' so loud and sounds so awful. It's actually quite distracting to work with. If I was sitting with my laptop in public I'd be embarrassed by the `clonking' and rightfully so as no doubt anybody within a several metre range would be getting quite frustrated. I wouldn't have expected this from a Belkin, although it is my first.
This is my first retractable mouse cord; it's great for being on-the-move and although it performs quite typically for this type of design (the wire sometimes jams up on the spinal), it's less stressful than a wireless mouse that just doesn't want to play ball.
For somebody with a note/netbook that is constantly active, this mouse is perfect, providing you can live with the clicker. It's very small and easy to store. For anybody else, I'd recommend something mid-size.
