Excellent sound, high quality, fine design

(5 out of 5) by T. Diemer on Jul 17, 2009
I really love the sound of this small radio. After comparisons with a lot of other radios in the same price range it was clear for me that I wouldn't like to have any other radio in my kitchen but only this one. It is amazing how such realistic sound can come from such a small body.

Alarm malfunction?

(2 out of 5) by SP Snyders on Nov 22, 2009 (UK)
Superb sound and build quality; possibly slightly "boomy" for some. Easy-to-use user interface, with two alarms and automatic dimming of clock, dependant on ambient light.

Sadly the alarm didn't go off, as set, on a couple of occasions so it was not fit for my purposes and I (very reluctantly) returned the product. Has anyone else had a similar problem, or was this a once off?

PS: I do live in an area with a relatively poor DAB signal.

So glad I bought this

This is a cracking piece of kit. It's extremely well built, very easy to use and the sound quality is superb. I just plugged it in and it immediately scanned for all the DAB channels, and I can receive each one as clear as a bell. This has converted me to DAB and certainly converted me to Boston Acoustics.

Humming clock

(3 out of 5) by Dr. D. Bottomley on Oct 26, 2009 (Sheffield UK)
Solidly built & fabulous sound quality but unfortunately emits a low humming noise and is too bright to recommend as a bedside alarm clock ( unless you are not disturbed by such things in the night)

Nice quality product...great price

Firstly I'd like to say I purchased my radio elsewhere and it was significantly more expensive so at this price its very good value.

Pro's
· Good reception (in my location)
· Nice and warm sound quality - Doesn't sound digital, and plenty of bass for what is such a small speaker.
· Goes up to a quite a reasonable volume without distortion.
· Aesthetically pleasing with a minimalist look
· Can be laid down or positioned upright - display rotates
· High perceived quality
· Compact and with no ugly separate power brick to get in the way
· Easy to use
· Interchangeable front grill allows you to colour match with your décor.

Con's
· No record function

Ideal small DAB radio for the office / kitchen or bedroom but avoid if you want something really loud.
