This beautifully designed case is pretty much a "must have" add-on for the G10 - it fits the camera perfectly, is visually totally in keeping with its "retro" look, fully protects it against bumps & scratches, won't get lost as it remains attached to the camera at all times, even with a tripod, and is quick & easy to use - just unclip the two rear poppers and the front drops down to let you take your shot. The only problem is that you have to take it off to access the camera's battery & memory card chamber which involves unscrewing the large knob on the bottom of the case, removing the camera etc., and then rescrewing the case back on - a time-consuming but unavoidable "downside" with this type of design. And, of course, it's well over double the price of Canon's "pouch case" alternative. Worth the money and the effort involved in accessing the battery & card chamber? Well... it looks great, it feels great and, once you've seen it in action, you'll want one.
G10 camera case
A well designed and sturdy case for the G10. I like the flexibility of removing the cover or simply folding it back. It appears to give a good level of protection from the elements and from occasional knocks.

A must have accessory
I bought the G10 camera as a go anywhere camera that could fit in my pocket or corner of my bag when I didn't want to lug a full SLR with me. The camera worked well enough in this respect, but it quickly became clear that a case to put it in was going to be a necessity. Very expensive for such a small case, but without it the camera doesn't slide in and out of your pocket very easily and its only a matter of time before one of the numerous controls on the camera gets damaged or snags on something. The G10 is as expensive as a good SLR, so this sort of protection is really a must if you want to protect that investment. I have never felt the need or desire to buy a case like this for my SLRs, but they are used in a different way and not pocketed or put in bags amongst other items. There are other cases that are much cheaper, but In the end its cheaper to *bite the bullet* so to speak, and pay out for this custom made case than waste money on a string of cheaper cases that will never work quite as well.
The case is as quick and easy to use as could be expected. OK, you need to remove it in order to change the memory card but in this day and age of high capacity sd cards this shouldn't really be a problem. It also gives the camera improved grip and feel when you use it, and offers good protection to the top controls, screen and lens area when the camera is not being used. Would have rated this five stars but for the price.

Soft to the touch, hard to resist...
Yes, it's expensive... but it sure is nice. The great little G10 has a pleasingly retro look and feel already, and this case, in soft black leather with a red suede lining, really complements it.
From a practical point of view, it fits like a glove, adding very little additional bulk to the camera. Getting to the camera means popping a stud and flipping the cover over, and takes a second or two. If you're expecting to take a lot of snaps, removing the top cover completely is equally straightforward. So much easier than getting it out of any kind of closed bag.
Downsides: if you want to get to memory card or battery you have to remove the bottom part of the case, which is fitted via the tripod screw dock (note that it doesn't stop you using a tripod), but this again takes maybe 20 seconds - I haven't found it to be any kind of problem.
If you can afford it, get it. You won't regret it.

Great Protection for Canon G10
Canon Digital Camera Soft Case SC-DC60A for the PowerShot G10 Digital Camera
I bought this case because my camera was getting a few scratches from sitting in my handbag all day. The cover is soft with lovely retro looks. Delivery was prompt and well packaged.
