Perfect fit for the G10. Provides very good cushioning but gives you easy access to use camera.

very retro

(4 out of 5) by u07ch on May 6, 2009 (UK)
The whole G10 is about retro really; look at all the knobs and dials. The case to go with it is very retro;its made from nice feeling leather with a suede effect inside. Though it looks good functionaly its a bit lacking:

Im not sure it offers much protection at all for your camera; if thats important to you.

Disastrously for a digital camera It blocks all access to the battery compartment and ports so you have to take your camera out of the case to sync with a computer or change batter / use a memory card reader.

Counter intuitively to use the camera; you either remove the entire top section or leave the poppet over the lens in place and detach the two side popets wraping hte case all the way over the top of the camera otherwise you cant see the screen or use the main dial at all.

In the end its about the looks of the case; which are spot on for the camera.

A must have accessory

(4 out of 5) by D. Brown on Sep 22, 2009 (UK)
I bought the G10 camera as a go anywhere camera that could fit in my pocket or corner of my bag when I didn't want to lug a full SLR with me. The camera worked well enough in this respect, but it quickly became clear that a case to put it in was going to be a necessity. Very expensive for such a small case, but without it the camera doesn't slide in and out of your pocket very easily and its only a matter of time before one of the numerous controls on the camera gets damaged or snags on something. The G10 is as expensive as a good SLR, so this sort of protection is really a must if you want to protect that investment. I have never felt the need or desire to buy a case like this for my SLRs, but they are used in a different way and not pocketed or put in bags amongst other items. There are other cases that are much cheaper, but In the end its cheaper to *bite the bullet* so to speak, and pay out for this custom made case than waste money on a string of cheaper cases that will never work quite as well.
The case is as quick and easy to use as could be expected. OK, you need to remove it in order to change the memory card but in this day and age of high capacity sd cards this shouldn't really be a problem. It also gives the camera improved grip and feel when you use it, and offers good protection to the top controls, screen and lens area when the camera is not being used. Would have rated this five stars but for the price.

G10 Canon Powershot case

(5 out of 5) by Mrs. C. J. Goodyear on May 23, 2009 (Spain)
Canon Digital Camera Soft Case SC-DC60A for the PowerShot G10 Digital Camera I am very glad I chose this case although there are cheaper cases on the market this one fits like a glove and makes using the camera far easier. It separates into two parts if you wish or the top drops back to allow you to take photographs very quickly.
Most cases have to be removed before you can use the camera but this has much thought into the design and I thoroughly recommend it.

SC-DC60A soft case for Canon G10

(4 out of 5) by G. R. Higgs on Jul 2, 2009 (UK)
What I wanted. An old-fashioned (if you like) "ever-ready" case that means the case is not forgotten and left behind.
Made it says, and appears to be so, out of real leather. Probably why it is a little stiff to pivot out of the way but that will probably ease with use.
A bit pricey considering what you get for the same amount in technology. (2 DVD recorders!) but presumably not made by robots and much smaller sales. Well made, protects the camera well and should last.
