So far i am very happy with the camera although I have not had time to learn how to use it to its maximum potential yet.
Options are seemingly endless coming from a compact camera background.

I bought this camera after a friend recommended it. It's a great camera and I have got excellent photos with it. It performs brilliantly in low light conditions. On auto mode it takes super photos. There is a range of nice settings in the Scene section to allow you to select the correct mode required easily by turning the control wheel. The zoom features are excellent and you can get sharp focus even at the maximum digital zoom. There is a nice movie function, with crisp sound and sharp pictures. It's a great camera.
I was in Jordan recently with colleagues from National Geographic, and they were saying what a nice camera it is and that I bought right. I guess you don't get a better recommendation than that.

Great feel of a solid camera. Knurled knobs make exposure compensation or Iso settings easy and very positive. Large screen makes it easy to check focus. Like the Raw ability. Very happy with the camera I carry it everywhere.

This camera has been a constant companion with me when I cant take a bulky DSLR. I was always weary of the iso noise issue (which canon have seam to addressed with the G11) but after seeing the results at low iso's i was stunned with the detail and sharpness, for a compact it is stunning. I mainly use my G10 for friend and family snaps, travel, journalism style all of which it excels at. The lack of high iso use is a pain but a flash does help if you have access to one otherwise a tripod can get around this. four years ago technology and resolution like this was a dream and now its here,yes it is still flawed but after you get used to its gimmicks its a great photographers camera.

I would just like to say what wonderful service i got ,ordered this camera for my husband it arrived and was faulty,contacted Amazon a new camera arrived the next day ,the faulty camera was picked up the following day ,well done Amazon.By the way my husband is thrilled with the camera.
