I have owned this camera just over a month and I can honestly say it is the best gadget ive ever bought. I am a complete novice when it comes to cameras and photography but want to change this and this camera is perfect for that. It takes absolutely fantastic pictures without any thought or expertise, but comes with enough features to impress experts. See my photos of sheffield park above.

This is my first digital camera after many years of using Pentax and Nikon SLR film cameras. It is just about small enough to carry in my pocket which my SLR is not. The images are fantastically detailed truly incredible. I have not yet managed to explore all the features the camera offers, however the macro facility is brilliant. Pictures of flowers are exceptionally detailed. The camera is well built and the controls are easy to use even for my large hands. The battery life is good, downloading to my computor is easy using supplied software. I was going to buy a replacement Nikon digital SLR, now I am not so sure as this camera is so good.

I am not a novis but the user guide is almost useless. There was no memorey card in the pack,so, I had to wait to go to town before I took the first picture. Cannon must think we are either masters or a bunch of stupid people. It was not acheap camera, fantastic details, rough appearance and it take me a while before I can take a very good picture. The pack is no good for the novis. I have my dissapointment!

This camera is everything it says it. Very simple for the point and press brigade like me or technically brilliant for the expert .

I started with a g7 three years ago and was very happy with it until it got broken in a fall, the replacement g10 is a gem of a camera. Picture quality is still stunning (14 mega pix). A take anywhere type of camera.10/10
