This is a truely superbly engineered semi professional camera that's a marvel of miniturisation. The facilities sophisticated and the results amazing. 100% recommended. Well done Canon.

Totally worth the price!

(5 out of 5) by Mohd F. B. Razak on Feb 1, 2009 (UK)
I'm not really that much of a photo enthusiast, but I'm pretty sure I'm able to spot a good picture when I see one. For this price range, I can confidently say this camera definitely produces the crispest pictures there is. I find the settings generally straightforward and easy to use, though there are a smattering of slightly more advanced tweaking possible if you so desire. I also found the camera exterior to be very sturdy (the casing is made of titanium if I remember it right), I accidentally dropped it from a height of about 1m and it bumped into a couple more stuff on it's way down. I'm glad to say that the camera is still intact and without a single scratch from the fall. Overall, I'd say that this is an excellent buy for all the casual users out there.

A Canon Virgin no more!!!

(5 out of 5) by Lora J. B. Fullagar on Apr 30, 2009 (London UK)
As above, this is my first ever Canon and I am stunned by this little gem. Its compact, the picture quality is a-mazing and i am particuarly enjoying the darker skin setting! A lot of the reviews on Amazon come from avid, experienced Canon users, however if you are a newbie to the Canon range then you will be exceptionally impressed like i am.
Its a very sexy little camera and feels great to hold in your hand. The response time is super quick and for some reason everyone looks amazing in every photo? At last a camera that kinda helps girls feel better about themselves! Enjoy....

Excellent

(5 out of 5) by Mrs. Pauline Hogg on Jun 15, 2009
I read all the reviews because with having a problem with my hand I wanted to be sure that I would choose the right camera. I have been really pleased with it and I can manage the buttons fine. I have taken the best photographs that I have ever taken - the handshake facility really works - I have ruined so many photos because of my handshake moving the camera. I would highly recommend this item. The only criticism I have is that I had to stop and print the manual off on the computer from the disc provided whereas if I had got a paper version with it I would have found it so much easier and much more convenient, maybe I'm old fashioned but I prefer a booklet to follow in my own time and something I can carry around with me at first while I learn to use it.

Absolutely no regrets!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. David Buckingham on Mar 24, 2009 (Doncaster England)
This is a brilliant camera, compact enough to take on day trips and not really know you have it with you. It easily fits in your pocket or on a belt loop.

It's very neatly put together and has great functions. The manual is easily downloaded and very clearly written.

The picture quality is excellent, as good as my Sony Alpha DSLR.

MY only criticism is that the buttons are a bit small and fiddly for big chubby fingers, but it's obvious they will be on a small camera.

Purchase this camera if you want great pictures, an easy to carry camera and plenty of features.

I don't think you'll be dissapointed.
