Easy to use, lightweight

(5 out of 5) by Angelique on Sep 2, 2009 (uk)
I bought this camera to replace my previous Pentax which needed fixing. I found it easy to use and lightweight. It fits into my handbag easily. The quality of the pictures is excellent even when I had to just point and snap to take a quick picture. The battery lasts ages and the controls are easy to understand. I would recomend this camera to anyone wanting to take good quality pictures with the minimum effort.

Very pleased.

Have had this camera a few weeks now, but am yet to read the manual - which shows how simple it is to use, despite the fact that I've never had a Canon before. Particularly pleasing is the speed at which the camera is ready to shoot after initially switching it on. This ensures that you don't miss that all important shot before the opportunity has passed. The camera is suprisingly small & takes up no more room in your pocket than a mobile phone.
The only complaint I have is that I wish it had a better optical zoom, although that's not really a fault of the camera because I knew it only had a 3x when I ordered it.
Overall, I am very pleased.

Fine small digital camera

(5 out of 5) by Dr. Anthony Smerdon on Aug 8, 2009 (Wirral, Merseyside,UK)
The digital Ixus by Canon is a moderately priced pocket size digital camera which is an excellent compromise between paying your funeral fees for a digital SLR and making do with your phone.

It is light, easy to get started with, rewards attention to the manual for more advanced work and accepts an enhanced memory card which means you never have to "change film". My only criticism is the failure to include a spare battery which for the sake of a few quid extra would remove the only other cause of unexpected camera collapse.

EXCELLENT ALL ROUNDER

Excellent

Very good all round point and shoot camera. I've had the camera for about two months now. I got some excellent shots from it recently on holiday of all different types, indoor, landscapes, sunsets etc... Only thing that I would like on it is a sport mode - difficult to take fast moving shots, unless there is some other way of doing it.
