Having been a hifi nut for years good sound is a must and this is something Sony have always done well particularly with their walkman range.I have had 3 Sony players before this model which were all good but this model is fantastic.I wanted a new model as my NWS1200 was very good but a bit heavy and the screen was tricky to read in daylight.Well Sony have excelled themselves with this product, it looks and sounds superb, the drag and drop facilty in windows being a huge improvement over the sonic stage they used before. As an added bonus the FM radio is good and the video quality is amazing for such a small device.Ok you,re not going to be watching movies on it much or long tv programmes via the BBC iplayer facility, but this is a great achievement all the same.I always knew Sony could come up with an ipod beater and here it is.I admire what Apple have done but it,s nice to see another company beat them at their own game and such good value for money.Do buy a protective case as the Sony is far too good to get scratched.iGadgitz do a good leather case to match the unit.
top mp3 player
Got this item from amazon instead of a another ipod, my old ipod's hard drive died a death.....excellent value for money easy to use with windows or itunes and gives great sound quality when connected to our stereo system better than the ipod! battery life is superb and the 16 gb storage means you can get tons of music on it...the sense me feature works well and you really can set the mood from your music library without having to compile play lists....great gagdet!!
Good value MP3 Player
I was looking for a replacement for my Iriver H320 which finally gave up the ghost last month. In the end my decision came down to this or the Iriver Clix 2. In the end the 16Gb storage won out. I've been using the player for a few weeks now and have had no problems with it at all. The menu system is really easy to navigate. You can view your song list by folder, song name, year, genre etc which I have to admit is easier than only viewing by folder which is what I've been used to doing for the past 5 years. One of the main reasons I chose this player above many others is that you don't need to install any software on your computer to transfer files you simply use windows explorer to drag and drop, the only thing I have noticed is that file transfer speed is alot slower than on my IRiver. It's possible that files transfer much faster when using Windows Media Player to transfer but I guess I'll never know. It's really easy to download BBC Iplayer programs onto the player which is good but the screen is just slightly too small to comfortably watch a short program.

I can't seem to find in any of the reviews or on the techincal description as to Battery. I would like to know how how many hours play for music and how many hours for video. Also how long does it take to charge the battery once it is flat?

Imac compatable?
When I saw the mini video accompanying this player I thought great,I can transfer my Itunes library to it but after reading several reviews I'm confused.
If you have your Itunes music on an Imac computer, can you drag your files to the Sony or not?
Its just not clear...
