Excellent wireless set

(5 out of 5) by Joss on Mar 13, 2009 (Scotland)
I received this desktop set today, usual faultless service from amazon. Plugged in receiver and both keyboard and mouse worked perfectly, no problems. The quality of both keyboard and mouse is superb, so solid for the money.
Advice, go buy.

brlliant

Bought this to replace an old logitech cordless that all the letters had worn off. Absolute joy - plugged it in and it set itself up automatically. None of this pressing buttons in order and waiting for lights to flash a particular number of times that caused me so much stress on the last one. Mouse feels good in the hand and keys are crisp and responsive. Favourites keys are on the bottom of the keyboard which feels rather strange, but no doubt I will get used to them there. Chose this because it is meant to be less battery hungry than old one. Cant fault it for anything so far.

Dissapointed

(2 out of 5) by T. Knight on May 4, 2009
This set is probably quite cheap for what it is. it looks really good and the wrist rest which is fully attached (that's where they hide the electronics to keep it so slim) is nice to use.

I bought this set as it was the perfect partner to my flatsceen apparently. As I was using a wired keyboard and mouse this was to replace I was dissapointed to see that I actually had to put this closer than the wires previously had stretched!

Proving pretty much useless for TV use, I moved it to the desk where it copes well, as long as the keyboard is directly in front of the reciever, the mouse does however tend to change in sensitivity depending where it is which can be quite interesting! It also has a tendency to drag things instead of click on them, making internet use quite strange dragging pictures and words around the page. Thank goodness they included the CD which apart from drivers has a completely useless program which sits in the bottom right corner ready to update...to what? From what? it's unclear.

Other than that, it's OK. If you get used to it and know its limitations its relatively good and has the looks to get away with it, I wouldn't buy again, if you want a wireless set up, save up a bit more and get a proper one with a bit of range, if you want a desktop set without wires (I luckily hate my mouse wire getting all caught up at the back!), then this is reasonable.

Hope it helps,
Tim

Logitech

I bought this to replace an old Logitech set-up that used AA batteries as if they were going out of fashion and had a shift key that keep sticking. This seems a whole world better - after a couple of months its still on battery set number one and the keys have a nice feel. The keyboard despite being a full size one has a very small desk footprint, important when your desk has as much junk on it as mine.

Finally a well designed and no-nonsense keyboard

(5 out of 5) by Only the best is good enough on Mar 13, 2009 (London, UK)
I was looking for a keyboard that met both the criterias of being well designed aswell as being without superflous details that I would never use but would demand space from my desk.

After a lot of research that also had to meet my tight budget, I ordered the Logitech Cordless Desktop S520 and must confess that it has changed the working environment aswell as the typing sensation for the better. The laser mouse also works brilliantly (but not on black or glass).

Like my previous clunky Dell keyboard, it is also made of plastic, but thanks to its tight and meticulously laid out design it is not clunky, it is very smooth and accurate and takes minimum amount of space, very sleek and slim.

I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend anyone out there looking for a new keyboard/mouse without wanting to spend a fortune to order this.
