(4 out of 5) by Cx on Feb 4, 2009 (UK)This camera is a great P&S. The pictures it takes are clear and bright & the colours are good. The screen is likewise. The simple mode is like a hand-holder for digital dummies - that I'd like to try out on my Mum! Takes nice big memory cards which means LOADS of storage - and that I can do really long videos (if I can get the battery life out of it) at a good quality. Personally I think the AUTO mode is better than any of the other settings, but I reckon if you fiddled with the manual settings (which I don't) you could get some pretty serious shots with this.
I still don't rate it as highly as my Fuji finepix camera - which is simply brill, but a little big & cumbersome. It's annoying that it takes batteries too, which never last long in cameras. I have yet to invest in some high-charge rechargables, but I hope they will reduce the running costs a little. 10MP is great for cropping purposes because you really don't loose much quality when you crop out the bits you don't want. The red-eye is not very good in the software (slightly better on the camera but labourious!) and the editing software is VERY slow (windows photo gallery or Picasa are better for simple jobs!).
I'd give it a 9/10 because it IS a great camera - esp if you're not comparing it to anything else!!
