OK so what's it like as a scanner. Normal generic style software with OCR, graphics manipulation etc. All OK, but there are much better programs around, but of course you have to pay for them.
We checked all of the modes today and of course the quality etc of the various images. Overall pretty good, good definition and colour saturation. These make it a 4 star machine. Why have I given this scanner 5 then, simple really, its the size and whilst it is plastic, it feels rugged. Its also quick enough although it won't win any races, my feeling was that Canon have sacrificed speed for pretty ruged construction, small footprint and of course the limitation of drawing down power from the USB port.
Overall, great little machine, low price too - bargain.

(5 out of 5) by Queen Bee on Aug 18, 2009 (UK & Spain)This is a great scanner for the price. Easy to set up and use. Good that it needs no power supply, feeds from the computer. Very compact and neat. Quality of scanning has been more than adequate, just what you expect from Canon.
