Well worth the money

This scanner is just great.
Easy to install and to use too. The one down side for me is that it has a maximum dpi of 600 when scanning a photo. Not bad though and darn quick no need for a power supply as it slaves its power from the PC.

Good scanner

(5 out of 5) by Bill on Feb 15, 2009 (uk)
Good slimline scanner, looks attractive. Like that is powered by USB. Installed software, like the idea that you can scan straight to PDF file format which saves space and easy to e-mail. Also like the photocopying function. Just press the photo copier on the scanner and it will scan and send it straight to the printer. I find the buttons on the front really useful and quick. It scans documents very quickly (20 seconds for b&w A4) compared to my old scanner.

The only one negative is that sometimes you get a black line which needs cropping since the white lid does not always sit straight on the glass plate. But for this price it is not a big issue.

Great scanner at a great price!

(5 out of 5) by Big Is Beautiful on Jan 6, 2009 (London, UK)
Simply put, this is an excellent scanner, which works straight out of the box. Quite lightweight. I will be using an old laptop bag to carry this unit around when I need it away from home. I would imagine that some modern laptop bags have sufficient room to carry this unit in the same case!? I would suggest placing a piece of acid-free tissue paper (available from model and craft shops) between the scanner lid and the glass platten while in transit, as this reduces the risk of permanent marks being left on the glass if the scanner is accidentally 'squeezed' or compressed in its bag while in transit), as well as locking the scanner with the button on the underside. Tried using the scanner while my laptop was on battery power and the battery did drain quite a bit after several pages, which was somewhat expected but might cause issues if you use it too much in this way. I have an additional battery for my laptop, which reduces this problem.

Do ensure that the drivers are loaded first before connecting the scanner to your PC, otherwise the Windows XP scanner wizard can get a little confused!

In summary, a truly lightweight and portable scanner at a great price, easy to use, intuitive menus in the supplied software package and not that noisy compared to some scanners I have used. Enjoy!

Great product recommend to anyone!

(5 out of 5) by Adam Chat on Feb 15, 2009 (Yorkshire, UK)
Having never owned a scanner before, I didn't know what quality to expect from a scanner of this price. I got this due to the fact that I also recently purchased a digital photo frame and wanted to scan in photos for it. Its worked perfect for this function, all the photos come out in extremely good quality. Would recommend this scanner to anyone.

Compact and neat

(4 out of 5) by PEBL on Feb 28, 2009
The good:
Works in 64 bit Vista Ultimate
Is very compact and smart looking
Doesn't require a separate power supply

The bad
Haven't worked out how to adjust the colour as whites look pink
The control panel always reverts back to the default settings rather than what you last used.
