Very unhappy with this printer. Prints were misaligned, with a bar running through.

After hours of print head adjustment, and depletion of inks,Item returned.

Reliable
Having bought a Kodak ESP 5 and encountered A LOT ot trouble, I was rcommended this printer, as I want reliability and quality. So far this has done a superb job without any trouble whatsoever. Interestingly Kodaks sales angle is that it is cheaper to run, and still better photos, however the photographs off the Canon are far more vibrant. I have the same photos from the Kodak as this, and what a difference.
Was going to wait longer before putting this review in as time tells, but compare the sheer weight of 4 / 5 star reviews on this, it does not really seem worth waiting. Try and find a 1 year old 5 star rating of the Kodak esp 5!

Not to be trusted
I purchased this printer from Amazon in May, since when it has developed two faults. The scanning function stopped working in July, and its printing function has now broken. Canon have only helped to the point of recommending places for me to 'post' the printer for repair. I had naively thrown away the box, and am now at a point where I will probably throw away the printer. This is flimsy and clearly badly made. How much longer do we have to put up with these electronics companies taking us for mugs?
Exceptional value for money
From photography onwards, I always stick to Canon as the quality of the product can always be guaranteed.
This printer, for the bargain price Amazon are charging, is superb. It looks very smart and is easy to set up. The software, for me, is helpful and contains some interesting stuff to play around with. The controls of the printer are quite intuitive, and it prints, scans and copies like a dream. I'm currently scanning a lot of very old and irreplaceable family photos onto my laptop, and I was surprised by how quick and easy it was.
I haven't printed any photos yet (I have a separate photo printer - Canon, of course) but it has a card reader and a small screen. I don't need WiFi, so couldn't see the point of getting a more expensive machine: the WiFi apart, this printer will do everything the pricier ones do.
It is a tremendous buy.

Well designed, attractive, compact, all in one device
Well designed and engineered, attractive, compact, all-in-one device that works well out of the box (once you've installed the drivers, which takes a long time and has to be done for every computer that needs to print to it - a big faff). I liked the LCD screen. Also liked the way the paper tray slides in underneath, though it's rather shallow so doesn't hold much paper. Wireless capabilities are untested - can't work out how to get our computers to print to it wirelessly. Ink cartridges are smaller than on my previous Canon printer so may run out quickly, and I suspect they will be expensive to replace.
