Photos as good as shops'

(5 out of 5) by music lover on Apr 14, 2009 (CUMBRIA)
Just got this printer today - excellent! Take a little time to read instructions for putting printer head and ink cartridges in - I'm ham fisted and it would be easy to damage plastic frame for holding printer head. Remember to take orange protector off!
As yet, have only used it as 'stand alone' to see how it performs. Used memory card and copied - results are oustanding.
I had a Lexmark for years and the cost of cartridges was a disgrace - I could only afford to use black. I do not know how this will compare but Phoenix Cartridges seem good value. I use them for my wife's Epson.
I bought this printer from the reviews on Amazon and I am delighted. I am most impressed with the standard of reviews on this web-site - they save you a fortune on buying the right equipment. I got my camera in the same way - happy printing!

Excellent printer

(4 out of 5) by D. F. Corbett on Mar 21, 2009 (Essex, UK)
I think that this is an excellent printer for the price. It is easy to set up and use and the quality of printed photos and text documents is more than adequate for domestic use. I liked the ease of printing a photo directly from a memory stick. Copying is also straightforward and of good quality. I have yet to try the scanning function. My only slight criticism is the speed of printing, but again this is perfectly adequate for normal household requirements. Which? magazine gave this printer an above average review but not a best buy. Personally, I think it would be difficult to better it for the price.

I bought this product on the strength of the reviews here. It's easy to set up and the print quality is excellent - worth every penny.

Canon is a big gun!

(5 out of 5) by G. ATKINSON on Jul 16, 2009 (Isle of Man)
This multifunction printer does exactly what it says on the tin and for an unbelievably low price. Plus it is easy to use and is a nice (and nicely finished) piece of product design with a small footprint. The quality of scans, copies and prints is remarkable for what is the lower end of Canon's range of printers and I am more than pleased that I chose this model and saved money. Usual excellent service from Amazon. If only the ink in OEM cartridges were not still many times the price of a good single malt by volume - maybe that's what accounts for the results and I shouldn't complain!
