the canon pixmar mp630 arrived a couple of months ago and we have used it to print scan and print cd's for the christmas album and it hasnt broken down once and is practical when wandering around the house printing over the wifi.

Very satisfied so far. Easy to set up.
Slightly annoying having two paper feeds instead of one which does everything.
Would definitely like a paper manual for basic use instead of online.
Like other reviewers -the automatic door opening is "fun"

Bought the machine having read several reviews and I am not disappointed. A great value machine which performs well in terms of printing, photos and scanning. Hope the cartridge costs are not too high,we will see?

Be Warned

(1 out of 5) by Babbler on Nov 16, 2009 (UK)

Last year, after a lot of research I bought a Canon Pixma MP600R, presumably a predecessor of the one you are looking at. It looked as though it would do everything: print, scan, print discs and wirelessly which is a brilliant feature if you work with a laptop. As a basic printer it worked fine but it was incapable of scanning wirelessly (a fact it transpired Canon were aware of). Now today, just 21 months after buying it and after very light usage at home it has shuddered to a halt with a persistent grinding noise. Not a single function works. I reported the Error Code 5010 to the technical helpline and they suggested I buy something else because the callout charge for an engineer is £95 + VAT +parts with no guarantee of them being able to repair it. What a load of rubbish and yet more to go into landfill.

No problems so far. Setup was straightforward, printing is good, yet to try the scanner.
