Pick a Pixma!
Never been too impressed with any printers screen to paper realism, so 6 months ago chose Kodak's EasyShare5500 all-in-one, a new venture for Kodak based on a reputation of photo excellence. For the first time, ever, I was amazed by the realism of digital photo quality prints, especially the all important skin tones. Problem was, Kodak had an issue with its cartridge carrier which caused all sorts of weird printing results, and, after four exchanges, I reluctantly gave up on it, and expected mediochre prints from then on. Luckily, a guy at PC World said "Your best bet is a Canon". I did my research and chose the Pixma MP 630. Wow! The quality is fabulous! It's style seems very understated as an 'all-in-one' but results in photo-quality and even plain paper everyday documents is impressive! The interface is intuitive and friendly, the paper tray is hidden underneath, and, like an invisible friend, it may not dominate the desk, but it delivers, everytime.Canon PIXMA MP630 All-in-one Printer (Printer/Copier/Scanner)

Canon PIXMA MP630 All-in-one Printer (Printer/Copier/Scanner)
A retirement present. Dozens of packets of old photos,& my sister gave me an album of snaps from the 30's-40's-50's. The project began. Set up-v easy- and believe me I'm no engineer, although there's a disconnect between the Canon designers/engineers and the manual writers who would benefit from guidance on manual writing- in plain english- with the reader in mind.Print quality excellent- have now sent a couple of hundred prints worldwide- on the original cartridge... A little slow to scan/ digest but more than made up for by the end result.Still puzzled by what I'm supposed to do with the CD draw/slide thingy included in the pack-see comments re manual above
A little expensive- but when did you ever regret buying the top of range?- -sadly let down by the paperwork.

Peerless Pixma - Astonishing Amazon
Having relied on Canon products for years [cameras especially, printer, scanners etc] I needed to replace a much loved and much used S600 having done the usual days of internet research on models and retail sources once again I find I cannot beat the range and service of Amazon. I plumped for Amazon after trying not to! Chose the Pixma MP630 which was the first to come up in their search engine. Showing as a 'special' on price I wanted to doubt the blurb but read the reviews anyway. Finally it seemed like a 'no-brainer'
I have to say that this machine is incredible value for money and the service of delivery from Amazon once again faultless. The printer copier scanner made me doubt the quality of the photo printing and as I am an amateur photographer this was paramount. I defy anyone to come up with a comparable machine to equal this in price, quality and efficiency. As has already been said elsewhere it was ordered by lunchtime and delivered the next day by 11.00am.(Beat that!) I actually don't even understand how this is possible!
It was out of the box and set up to print a test shot in under 20 minutes. The technology is now streets ahead of my old printer and there are so many options as to how to go about doing your projects from a basic 'one click print' for snaps to allowing the more discerning to play with the results without resorting to Photoshop! I cannot fault Cannon here and neither can I fault Amazon. First class product at a bargain price and delivery that frankly is bogglingly fast. Beautifully packed, easy instructions, simple to put together. Couldn't equal this speed of service if I had gone out to my local stores and bought it [where it was £80 dearer]
Highly recommended item. Strongly recommended supplier. Unbeatable.

Great printer/scanner/copier/CD printer
I wanted a printer/copier scanner and branch out into printing directly onto my own CD's to save on bills at the printing company. I am self employed and need to send CD's to prospective customers.
My old printer was an Epson and had no direct to CD capability and I was sick of getting lines or bands visible on photo's so I looked at HP and Canon as alternatives.
I bought an HP photosmart 5280 because it was cheaper than this Canon MP630. But I had to return it because the CD design templates were rubbish. They did not even have room to type my email address or website address in the text box. It split the text onto two lines which is useless if you are printing CDs to promote your website. And there was no freedom to put text or pictures where you wanted to on the CD. There is a free label printing software thingy included with the HP but that is only for labels, NOT for printing direct to a CD. If you want that software, you have to pay for it. I emailed HP to ask if there were any 'freestyle' templates to download and there aren't.
So I got a refund and bought the Canon MP630 from Amazon.
It is great. The CD template is very flexible.
You can choose your text size, colour and font and you can put photos on with ease. And there is plenty of room to print a website and email address.
It prints onto the printable CD's with ease. Just pull down the CD lever and insert the CD and tray when you are prompted to do so.
Easy-peasy.
It scans and copies documents and photo's well too.
It is a bit on the large side, so you need a decent space to house it.
And it's great to finally be able to print off photos without them having those lines or bands across them like with my old Epson.

Superb All In One Printer
Once again great service from Amazon and at long last a printer that does everything it is supposed to and does it brilliantly.Very easy to set up and is supplied with excellent software easy to understand and use.Photo print results, ordinary printing, scanning and copying are of the highest standard and the CD/DVD print program is superb as are the results. The machine is quiet and smooth in operation and very quick. The supplied Canon cartridges so far seem to be lasting very well. Overall a "MUST HAVE" printer if you are looking for an all in one.
