I purchased this office printer in April 09, at first it worked fine but i was amazed how quickly it went through the ink, the cartridges are pretty narrow (and expensive) but i put that down to all the faffing about when you start a new printer like aligning the text,trouble shooting printing irregularities..etc.Next I bought some new cartridges and replaced the old ones but the printer will not use black, Epson help line suggested cleaning the head which didn't help at all, in fact all it did was to empty all the new cartridges pretty quickly again. then i was given an address 20 miles away where i took the printer to be looked at, the guy there said to leave it with him. A few days later I was sent another one, a second hand looking one, maybe mine maybe not. Put yet more cartridges in it but after a few prints they emptied,4 more cartridges later and now the printer is saying can't recognize 3 out of 4 of the printers, what a nightmare, the thing will not work until I renew the cartridges yey again. This is a very unreliable printer that would cost you a fortune in Ink even if you buy refillable cartridges.

I bought this all-in-one from Amazon almost a year ago and have been delighted with it up until now. Unfortunately, after three lots of ink cartridges, it has problems printing the Cyan ink. Repeated head cleaning and six hour waits as directed in the manual have not done any good. Furthermore, the head cleaning process consumes ink at an astonishing rate! I have blown over £30 worth of cartridges in an afternoon trying to get it to print properly. Looking back through the reviews here, I find that I am not alone! If you want a printer that is economic and reliable, this may not be the best option. I am about to try and get redress through the warranty, but having had this very expensive experience I am thinking of simply cutting my losses and buying a non-Epson. Note that head cleaning consumes ink from all the cartridges, not just the one that's blocked! I am bitterly disappointed- it worked great for a while.....

this is an excellent easy to use product.
It prints really fast and the scan quality is excellent.
It uses ink cartidges up very quickly, which means a good stock is required at all times!
It doesn't like some of the compatible cartridges, and does not recognise the 'extra life', so half the ink gets wasted.

I have had this printer for one year during this time I have had to return it 4 times as once the printer has a paper jam it can not reset itself so therefore will not print and once this happens it has to be scrapped - Epson replaced the printer twice with reconditioned models and once with a brand new one each time the same thing happened Epson have now replaced it with the updated version and I received this today so cant comment on that one yet - I would suggest you dont buy this product!!
