Great Value for Money

(5 out of 5) by Jeff Allen on Feb 1, 2009 (Berkshire, UK)
Sony have created a gem with this product after formerly having the BDPS300 which did not have profile two or have particularly quick load times this M/C is totally different with profile two after the easy download (via ethernet). It hooked into my sound system without a problem and as I would have expected into my Sony 1080P TV. The pictures & sound are brilliant "Dark Knight", "Iron Man", "Band of Brothers" all look breath-taking on blueray. It doesnt stop there with great up-scaling of DVD giving details I could not see on a standard player, be prepared to be pleased you bought this unit.

Brilliant picture quality of blu ray discs on this player. The upscaling is also excellent which means i do not have to change my extensive dvd library to blu ray.The sound quality through optical is great can upset the neighbours though.Great price, great machine, great buy!Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray Disc Player 1080p Full HD

Easy to set up and picture brilliant

I bought a Sony 32V4000 LCD tv and decided to go for the Blu Ray player too. I purchased the tv and HDMI cable from amazon which I received the next day, but got the player from elsewhere as £20 cheaper.
I have been really impressed with Sony set up. Just fill in the options and away you go!
My tv isn't 1080p and the 1080p option won't work or downgrade on this player. For 720p/1080i tv like mine set for 1080i. I went for the 32v4000 over the 32w4000 mainly owing to price but also that you don't see the benefits for 1080p unless the screen is above 32" apparently (friend of a friend who manages a Sony shop).
I put in an old DVD (Lord of the Rings) to test and the picture has blown me away. The upscaler appears really good and the picture so much smoother than the old DVD player I had. I will probably borrow my mate's Blu Ray Indiana Jones to see what the difference is with that. He uses PS3 on a 46" Sony X series and the picture is really awesome.
Also the size of the product is good and not bulky at all.
Overall I am really impressed with the Sony products I have bought (previously Toshiba 28" CRT/DVD/Video owner) and would recommend them.
