bad bad bad
Forget about buying this, this product is completely rubbish. First he needs like 1 min to wake up and is very very very slow, i thought mine was broken until I read they all like that. The sound settings are a headache really, and the manual doesn't help. So when you listen a Blu ray, you got the sound super loud for the dialogues and when there is action u need to jump on the remote to lower the sound, really dumb. And finally what just killed me is that i bought this stuff coz it has a iPod dock. But this dock is a joke, it doesn't recognise the iPod/iPhone functions except if you got an old iPod 3 or 4 G .... S oyou cna listen your tunes browsing with the slow Panasonic interface.... In top of that the plastic door is a total rip off my iPhone wasn't recognised 48 H after i got it. Total Rip off panasonic, I loved this brand well that's the last time they see my money.

SC-BT100 3.1 is a winner
If you've read all the other reviews of this product, this one wont say anything new! Tiresomely slow at loading (as was my Panasonic DVD recorder) but it's worth the wait - fab picture, and unless you live in a stately home - the sound is perfectly adequate for most peoples homes. The Subwoofer is set at high as the factory default - rediculously loud. The instructions are
rubbish, it took me 2 days to work out how to change the decibel level to one that didn't burst my eardrums on playing. But now, it's all set up just the way I want it. Not sure I'll bother with the rear wireless speakers, for me it wasn't about the sound effects, more about the quality of the overall sound and this baby doesn't disappoint. Definitely reccommended (but then, I am a Panasonic fan)

Excellent, but a bit more expensive than you think...
Fully configured this is an excellent Home Cinema and Blu-ray package that delivers stunningly good picture & sound quality from both Blu-ray discs and standard DVD's. Marry it with one of Panasonic's latest HD plasma TVs and you've got a quite superb HD system for a price that, even a year ago, was unthinkably cheap.
But, what's the "fully configured" twist? Well, out of the box this is a 3.1 set-up when, believe me, what you really want from any HD system, particularly when playing Blu-ray movies, is full 5.1 surround sound. Which the SC-BT100 is perfectly capable of handling once you add Panasonic's excellent matched rear speakers (SB-HS100A) at around £80 for the pair. Add to that a further £90 or so for Panasonic's equally excellent wireless receiver for these rear speakers (the SE-FX67) which is actually a "must have" way of avoiding the main problem with a 5.1 set up - i.e. the wires running from the front to the rear of the room - and you're into around £670 for the whole lot.
More than you think then... but the end result is a breathtakingly good add-on to your brand new Panasonic HD TV that integrates seamlessly with it, without the need for multiple hand controllers and with the minimum amount of necessary wiring, and which more than justifies its "fully configured" cost.

my personal opinion
Have only just got this home cinema, and up to now it is not very good, instructions are average, still trying to work out how to turn the sub-woofer on, all the other things are up and running.
Picture is okay but i would only say its as good as hd not better as i had hoped, am talking about the scbt100 capability of upgrading present dvds. am going to get a blu-ray film to put it through its paces.
The sound is good, have it on no. 30 and it is loud, lots of tweeks you can do if you have the time.
In summary then instructions are fairly simple, picture is average ( up to now )sound is very good, ease of set up is fairly easy,if your a tweeker and likes to fiddle around with things then this system is alright for you, if you are a beginner then think long and hard about purchasing this.

Superb Panasonic product
This is the second sound system I have bought from Panasonic, and coupled with my new PANASONIC TH-46PZ82BA, it is superb. I purchased the 3.1 system and I have no intentions of buying the extra wireless speakers as I feel there is no need to as the sound produced is excellent. Great product.
