triple disappointment - steer clear

(1 out of 5) by Brook House on Oct 13, 2008 (Cheltenham, UK)
Thought it was just bad luck when the S20 (a neat little printer, just what my dad needed for light duties) put up a message after 4 days claiming the black cartridge was not genuine, and refused to print another thing. Returned to shop, replaced, exactly the same problem with the second. Thought I'd hit a bad batch, went to another store, same problem again. Looks like a major hiccup in quality control here - I reckon the product should be withdrawn.

You Get What You Pay for

(1 out of 5) by Gizzard Puke on Oct 1, 2008 (Northern Ireland)
I entirely agree with the comments of Mr Mindless, noisy, slow and expensive to run. Mine only lasted four days before I got the status monitor telling me I wasn't using genuine Epson ink cartridges. I've cut my losses and got a refund. Built down to a price rather than up to a standard, my advice is to avoid at all costs.

epson s20 - a complete piece of junk

(1 out of 5) by Christopher Kindon on Oct 16, 2008 (UK)
I purchased this printer for my daughters homework from Tesco's, it told me the first set of cartridges were incompatible after 5 days, i put the replacement ones in and these lasted about 3 days before the same message occurrred, took it back to Tesco's and got an exchange, but within a week it was upto the same tricks, this time Epson said it wasn't there problem and tesco's would not do an exchange again, so this lump of junk has cost me about £50 in wasted ink and £39 for the printer plus all the messing around and i can't afford to keep up with it, by the way the two printers have printed a total of about 30 pieces of paper in the 4 weeks since the initial purchase, i am now trying to get my money back somehow?

AGAIN I CANNOT EXPRESS WELL ENOUGH HOW MUCH A PIECE OF JUNK THIS PRINTER IS!

AWFUL printer complete trash do not buy this

(1 out of 5) by Mackin1111 on Sep 6, 2008 (UK)
I bought this printer thinking it was good because it has 4 separate ink cartridges and each cartridge is £6.99 however when i actually got it home i was shocked at how slow it was. There is a reason why this is so cheap it is so slow it takes about 10 minutes before it will print one page from when you first turn it on. And even then it sounds like it is struggling to print that first page. I gave up on it completely when i turned it on 2 weeks later the epson status monitor popped up and said Epson recommends the genuine Epson cartridges listed above the black cartridge was not recognised and is not a epson compatible cartridge even though i installed the epson cartridge that came in the box. It wouldnt do anything after that a red light remained on the button Complete trash DO NOT BUY IT you will have problems. I now have to return it to the shop and get a refund.

Poor

(1 out of 5) by H. Briggs on Dec 4, 2008 (CA)
Printed well for a couple of times but then told me the ink cartridges were incompatible and refused to print. This was definitely not the case as the cartridges had worked perfectly well for the first couple of times and they were the ones that came with the printer when it was bought. I also know they hadn't run out of ink because last time the ink monitor came up it showed that they were full.
When the printer did this I searched google for advice on how to fix the problem and found no help but plenty of bad reviews.
I contacted Epson & they tried to get me to buy new cartridges but I decided I wasn't going to waste money on a printer that was clearly faulty & should be taken off the production line.

My advice is avoid completely!
