I have recently bought this television because i was looking to go into the HD Market but could not find anything that was in my price range of size. I did buy this on another website purely for the fact it came with a free 5 year guarantee.

I stumbled up on this little number and i am glad i did. The set up is so easy i was suprised how quickly it was done. The colours are vibrant and appear to me not to blur into one. This also comes with freeview and this set up very easily too.

If you're after a mid sized tv then you cannot really go wrong for ease or clarity of picture. It would not stand out in a big room that is where 32" or 42" would pass this.

The sound on this is incredible! I set my nintendo wii up and i am not actually able to hear it without having to turn the volume up to insane levels. The picture is also very crisp and does not blur in anyway either.

It comes with 2 HDMI ports and an uncomplicated remote control too. However, one small gripe is that it only comes with one scart socket. It did mean i had to go out and buy an extra mulitple scart socket to enable me to plug my dvd player and Sky Box in.

Other than that i can't recommend this tv highly enough. If it's your first time in the HD world and you're on a limited budget then this is ideal for you.

I would have given this a 5* rating apart from one problem.

I bought this for my elderly mother and delivered it and set it up. The picture is excellent as expected, reception was very good. However, autotuning numbers the channels in the order they are tuned in. Thus only BBC1 and BBC2 had the channel numbers that they should have! I searched the manual without success for a solution and found none. I hastily wrote her a list of channels---ITV1 is 7, five is 14, etc---before returning home.

On a second visit recently, I found the solution to the problem. If you tune all the channels in manually, they get the correct numbers! This means stepping through each frequency in turn and letting the TV find the channels.

I don't think this is acceptable on a consumer unit and is surprising as my Toshiba 32" does not suffer from this problem! There doesn't appear to have been any online update to correct the problem.

A great TV with a pain of a setup problem.

Having read the other reviews here on Amazon, i decided first on buyinhg the Sony KDL26S3000 as the best bet for a wall mounted TV in our kitchen.
The plan was to run it on the HDMI output of our SKY HD box from the lounge via a HDMI distribution system in the loft (consisting of a HDMI splitter and 4 HDMI cable runs to different rooms).

Unfortunately, the Sony could not hold down a proper picture from the HDMI cable at all.. it seemed to be continually scanning but only occasionally locking onto a picture, before losing it again.

Because i have a few other TVs (Pioneer 43" plasma, and Toshiba 32" LCD) to test with, i was able to isolate the problem to the Sony implementation of HDMI interface on this TV. It may well be fine on a much shorter run HDMI cable, but is definitely more fussy than some other manufacturers' technology.

It was sent straight back and i bought the Toshiba 26" lcd instead (Toshiba 26AV505D), which works perfectly on the same cable setup.

It has a very glossy black fascia, in the style of the more common Samsungs you see everywhere. It has a nice straightforward setup procedure. The Digital freeview implementation seems solid enough.
I had to adjust the standard settings quite a bit (to tone down the default colour and brightness settings).

But the main reason i bought this TV is because i have an earlier 32" Toshiba which i knew to be fine on a long HDMI cable which goes via a HDMI splitter in the loft (it is 20m + 15m : 35M total). And the new 26" toshiba is equally at home with this long HDMI cable setup.

This means we get Sky HD in another room in the house which is a far more important issue for us than the relatively minor comparative differences that distinguish LCD TVs from different manufacturers these days.

I thought i would add this review for any buyers who are also interested in the HDMI input, possibly on a long cable run, or via a splitter or coupler like me.

Toshiba 26" Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV.

I was a bit anxious about buying a tv that I hadn't physically gone to look at but after extensive research on the internet and carrying out price comparisons the Toshiba was the one I liked the best and I decided to buy one.

I was not dissappointed. It arrived within 7 days, was easy to set up and has been great viewing ever since. The picture quality is excellent, so much clearer than analogue tv and the remote control is easy to figure out. The slimline size tv means I don't have to put up with the old bulky telly anymore.

The price was the best I could find and at £295 with free delivery I was very pleased. Freeview is included which means there are no more arguments in our house as to which programme is going to be watched and everybody is happy.

I would definitely recommend this tv.

Wanted a TV for conservatory, and this one seemed to fit the bill. Really easy to set up, and the picture quality is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a 26" flat sceen TV.
