Great System - nice sound, compact, easy to use
I liked the look of Sony in the pictures and wasn't disappointed, it is sleek and modern but not over-the-top so will fit into most styles of home and room. Watch out though as it is very deep and may not fit onto many shelves, etc. Feels typically Sony and fairly well built.
The DAB/FM/AM is a nice radio combo - there are 2 aerial inputs one for DAB and one for FM/AM. You need an external for DAB unless you are in a REALLY good signal area - I originally got one from B&Q for £20 but then realised that my TV aerial gives excellent reception for DAB - worth trying yours but excellent DAB reception for me (South Coast).
iPod dock is simple and functional - charges and plays music, also has all the attachments for various devices. Usefully, there is an AUX jack in on the front for other music players. Works with the iPhone 3G well and I've had no interference even when NOT in flight mode. Remote interface for iPod is OK although would be nice if is displayed what it was doing on the actual unit screen as I can't see the iPod very clearly from across the room.
CD player is simple and effective - useful to have MP3 compatibility and it plays copied discs no problem.
No AUX input on the back for connection to PC, game system, etc. a little disappointing because using the front connection leaves untidy cables.
Speakers offer a tight sound which is versatile for most music. There is limited equalising you can do on the system - basic bass/treble adjustment. The bass can sound sloppy at higher volumne. Bear in mind that this is a background sound system - not a party music maker.
Why would you buy this? You own an iPod and like DAB and you want a fairly compact all-in-one sound system that will look good and perform well.

iPod Dock not for all iPod!!
unfortunately the iPod Dock does not funcion with all iPods, only after 4th generations, this is a shame, only after I did a research and there are micro Hi-fi different brand that you can use all iPods generations!!

The perfect mini hi-fi for iPod fans. Play CDs and fill the room with your iPod tunes via the attached dock. Just plug it in and press play!
according to the manual you can wake up to CD, Tuner or iPod as your preset timer/alarm clock.

:)
I bought this system for the girl next door, she loves it, as I have Sony NASE35HD Giga Juke Hi-Fi system. This is a good micro hi-fi system to me, even if I have one more update technically, I say its a good quality sound system, very easy to use and there are no probs with it, No problems with DAB performance, even with the supplied leads..
I hope that this helps

Sony CMT-BX70DBi Microsystem with Built-in iPod Dock
This is an excellent purchase - about £128 from Amazon. Auto set-up was a doddle, the DAB Radio functions really well, FM tuner not so good but the DAB Radio gives me about 16 stations here in Nottingham, both local and national stations. Sound reproduction from the both the CD player and the iPod dock is great, volume plenty loud enough for a kitchen-based system. Finish is great, as you would expect from Sony. The unit comes with a remote control which works well from anywhere, though needs to be in line-of-sight. A bargain!
