The build and sound quality are excellent.

The bad points are:

The buttons, on the top, are not marked clearly enough. The unit is black and the markings on the buttons would be better in a bright white colour. With the Sony placed in a unit, I find it difficult to see which buttons are which.

The BAB aerial is a flimsy piece of wire. A more substantial aerial would have been better

Well I bought this system for compactness, the DAB radio facility and the IPOD connection. Straight out of the box it has excelled on all fronts. It is small and neat and sits with the speakers on each side exactly where I wanted it to go.
Sound quality is excellent on radio and Ipod and sitting on the couch using the remote is so easy.
I had no problem with picking up a multitude of DAB radio stations once I connected the supplied aerial lead to the lower plug, there's even a station for listening to relaxing birdsong.
The Ipod set up is simple, once you fit the little plastic adapter supplied to the slot on the top of the unit the Ipod slides in easily(mines a nano). I keep it permanently installed if i dont need it for out and about and its so simple to select it from the remote.
All in all I cant fault the set its perfect.

Only really used the ipod dock so far and very pleased with this function and sound.

can't get a sigal on the DAB radio as I need an external aerial, but ordinary radio is fine.

Had wanted an ipod dock for ages and this fitted the bill but also had the bonus of the CD and Radio which obviously many others dont have plus you tend to know what you are getting with Sony products.

I don't like getting into geeky technical specifications - basically if you are after a good looking stereo which is well built, sounds good in a living room and works with a good selection of ipods (i have an ipod touch 2nd Gen and my girlfriend has an old ipod mini which both work and charge up)then for me you cant go wrong with this especially for the price.

The system charges your ipod and the way you can navigate your ipod with the remote is also pretty cool.

As some other reviewers have mentioned I cant seem to get many DAB radio channels but to be honest i think im in a poor reception area and i havent really put much effort into trying to get it working - in any case the radio was a bonus that I didnt really intend on using much anyway, i got it to use with my ipod and the occasional CD.

If you are after a good ipod dock that offers a little bit more then go for this product at this price and you wont be disappointed. I havent stopped listening to mine since I got it!

The remote is a bit fiddly, the speakers are adequate. However, the unit itself is superb. I hooked it up to some very old Panny speakers and the sound was much improved. I guess it is just like buying an MP3 player; more often than not, you should discard the provided earplugs. But, had I not had some spare speakers, I would have happily used the provided ones.

Regarding the DAB reception, this was a revelation. I live in a ground floor flat which has virtually no mobile-phone reception, and my previous DAB radio received very few stations, and played warbling mud mostly. However, this unit picked up loads of stations (over 40) clearly just using the supplied cable. I was very pleasantly surprised as I was expecting to have to buy a dipole.

I cannot comment on the iPod docking quality as I do not possess one. However, the quality of this unit is such that I am scanning the Apple Refurbished iPod website in order to get a Classic 160GB.

The CD sound is good also. As is FM. Have not tried AM and do not intend to.

I am very pleased with this product; it sounds great and looks great too.
