Solar DAB scores top marks

(5 out of 5) by K. Lynn on Oct 26, 2008 (London UK)
Roberts Radio Solar Powered DAB White Radio + Rechargeable Battery
This radio replaced a power hungry DAB radio which I was buying batteries
every 2-3 weeks. As the radio is situated on a south facing window ledge in
a bathroom this seemed an ideal replacement with its solar re-chargeable batteries getting plenty of sun. I had doubts as solar charge products seem
to run out but this radio holds its charge and after its first set-up mains
charge the battery indicator always stays pretty full and I have not needed
any further mains charging after using it for over a month and its seems unlikely to need recharging for a very long time if ever at all.
I am using it in UK in October so the days are shorter than the nights.
I find the rubberised controls easy when hands are wet/damp and do not
need to extend the ariel for reception but that may vary depending on location. If you have a kitchen or bathroom (or any other place) which
catches the daylight then I strongly recomend this radio.
Sound quality is ok from a single speaker and with 10 easy presets to
store and get stations I consider this as one of my best purchases this year. KL.

Roberts have a winner

(5 out of 5) by H. Frohmann on Jul 29, 2008 (UK)
I've been waiting for a DAB radio which is small and handy to move around the house (like the transistor radios of my childhood) and was going to buy a Pure One Mini when they finally hit the shops. But then I found this new Roberts radio. I'm so glad I found it before I'd bought the Pure radio.

Not only is the solar DAB an excellent radio for taking around the house, and outside too, it also can be powered by the sun (the clue's in the name). What could be better?

Add to that the exciting range of colours and the lovely, soft touch, rubberised controls which are very easy to use and I don't think there's a better little DAB radio on the market.

No snap, crackle or pop.

(5 out of 5) by Linda Herbert on Feb 6, 2009 (Kent, UK)
Having bought the Roberts Solar powered radio as a Christmas present, I was sceptical whether it would work before the summer! However, it charges up perfectly on our kitchen windowsill and Radio Five Live is now a joy to listen to. It is also very easy to use. No bells and whistles with tea making facilities, just the product that you want and have paid for. Highly recommended.

Great Quality

(5 out of 5) by Mr. S. P. Ash on Jan 13, 2009 (London, UK)
I wanted to replace my small battery operated FM radio for the bathroom, which always had a time delay with other DAB radios in the house. So no longer do I need to buy batteries, as it seems to get plenty of day light through our frosted glass window, and this is mid winter as well.
It can't be easier to set up, I don't even think I read the manual.
I also like the quality of this radio, it just feels like it's going to last. Plus you get a choice of vibrant colours :o)
The only tiny tiny niggly thing that I would say is that the sound quality is a little hollow/muffled; which I've tested in different rooms in the house. But as I'm using it in a very echoey bathroom It doesn't really matter.
It still deserves 5 stars.

Fantastic SolarDAB

(5 out of 5) by N. J. Scott on May 26, 2009 (Gosport, UK)
What a great bit of kit. Ideal for bathrooms, camping, wherever really! Powered by rechargeable battery, mains or solar, what a good idea, love little things like this that just make life a bit easier. So glad I held off and didn't buy a DAB before seeing this one. If you're looking for a portable DAB, get one of these.
