Official Favourite Thing

(5 out of 5) by James Caithness on Jun 7, 2009 (Scotland)
I bought this after months of swithering and a sunny weekend when I had to leave Radio 6 in the house. It now accompanies me everywhere and is officially my "favourite thing". It's great to have a DAB radio that you can take anywhere and not worry about battery life. It's especially good when camping, in the garden or even when lazing in the bath. Functionally, it's fairly simple. The sound is clear. It would have been better if it had stereo speakers but that would have made it more bulky and you don't really miss stereo when listening outside. The mp3 input is really handy too. It's hard to believe that I ever lived without it.

Very neat

(5 out of 5) by Eric Baker on Jun 1, 2009 (London)
We have dreadful FM reception in our bathroom and looked for a small battery powered DAB radio. Most seem to eat through batteries rather quickly so one with a solar panel seemed a good idea so we bought a Solardab. It looks good (white) and fits neatly in the bathroom by the window. It picks up all the expected stations and the sound and signal quality is excellent. Loading and switching between presets is simple. A month on and we've only had to recharge it from the mains once. Another thing we like is that we can use it as a mains free speaker for our music players - you can get double ended mini jack leads cheaply if you search on the net.

great product for the outdoor life

(4 out of 5) by Azardamus on May 26, 2009 (UK)
Superb build quality, a a surprisingly clear rounded sound for such a small unit. Setup is a breeze but remember to charge initially overnight from the mains to condition the battery (i guess)

After that its screw the antenna in, extend it and press setup. Couldn't be much easier really. As long as you get a half decent DAB signal then the stations will appear.

The solar charge works very well and a few hours in direct sun will give you hours of evening playback and then its backlit when you need it to be so at night you can change the station easily.

My neighbours and friends are all getting one as well as its a no brainer then camping or sat in the garden.

Good Radio

(4 out of 5) by Mr. G. T. Redshaw on Aug 27, 2009 (Borehamwood)
Firstly I am sceptical of the battery life claims. That said if I need to do an occasional mains charge thats fine with me. I like the sound and its easy controls. It saves on batteries or constant mains power so it wins for me.

Great Solar powered DAB radio!

(5 out of 5) by P. Wheway on Oct 19, 2009 (Chorley, UK)
Great little DAB radio - works great on our kitchen window sill - picks up all the DAB stations, but we are in a v. good DAB reception area. Charges up when off during the day from the sunlight through the window - haven't had to plug it in to charge up yet (except initial charge), and it gets a couple of hours use a night.
Only slight downside is the extendible aerial is a bit unsightly, but it works very well in our house with it fully retracted.
Overall, very pleased with it.
