Best 60 Quid I have spent in a long time

Supports all video formats, great design, poor file interface

I'm using The DVP5990 for 2 months now and tried many video/pictures on differents formats I didn't have a single glinch. Perfect record on both USB and DVD disk. I also like the design of it and the USB stick being extremly handy as well.
Only Problem for me: The navigation interface still poor: only 4 files are displayed in one page and only the first 8 characters appear if you happen to have a lot of file with the same first 8 characters in the name you just can't find anything, shame.

Philips DVP 5990/05 DVD Player
