Logitech Nano Laser Mouse-Cordless

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Derrick Noble on Feb 26, 2009 (North Wales UK)
Just bought a new laptop, felt the need for a mouse for static use at home.
This is small and compact but fast and easy. The receiver is so small that you cannot see it in its USB port. Can't recommend it enough.
Delivery service from Amazon also excellent and fast.

Excellent little portable mouse

(5 out of 5) by C. Shaw on May 20, 2009 (West Yorks, UK)
After much hesitation in selecting from a compact mouse for my Dell 13" laptop, from the dozens of makes and models out there, I decided on this Nano cordless.

from the outset the mouse was a dream to set up and use. plugging in the mini 'nano receiver', and it installed itself on Vista Home 64bit without any drivers. the supplied batteries go into a cover on the underside of the mouse, and there is a tiny recessed button on the underside to turn the mouse on and off. Pressing the button with a fingernail turns the mouse on, and a green light on the underside and on the top of the mouse itself indicates that the mouse is on and has 'made a connection'.
the mouse is active within a second or so once turned on, and is the most responsive wireless mouse i have used so far.

Im not 100% sure when the mouse goes to sleep when not used for a certain period of time, as the documentation seems not to define this, but it does seem to go into standby eventually if you forget to turn off the mouse manually.

battery life is quoted as 12 months with the 2 AA's supplied, though the receiver obviously requires no power and is so small it can in most cases be left in the laptop all of the time.

the mouse is very precise to control, easily up to portable graphic design work and gaming, with the button and scroll wheel smooth and positive.

and whats more, its quite a sophisticated shade of black! (with fine red trip around the side thumb rests)

also available in Silver and Red

Perfect MOuse for good money

(5 out of 5) by Lorda on Feb 25, 2009 (UK)
I bought this beauty around a month ago and I am very happy with it. Easy to set up and the NANO receiver GOSH, you cannot say it's plugged in, it's the smallest I've seen. Most of my friends say WOW when they see it

It is perfect for surfing the net and...you know the usual stuff.
I tried it on Counter Strike and its not the best but it's much better than the optical one I had before, if you'd like something better for gaming you should go for some of the G or MX gaming series mice, but for casual gaming it's fine.

The batteries (DURACELL suplied) so far are fine, it showed 450 days life left when I bought it, now shows 390 which makes around 7 months of use, but I leave the mouse ON all the time, so if you turn it off when you don't use it, you might be able to squeeze more battery life.

You can use it everywhere, except on glass or very glossy surfaces, it will respond better if you get a pad, I don't need one as I use the mouse either on the ground or when I'm in my bed.

It is neither big nor small, somewhere in the middle.

I don't know what more to say, in my opinion, if you need a good laptop mouse this is your mouse.

Not the best

(2 out of 5) by Mr. S. Holland on Nov 17, 2009 (Medan, Indonesia)
I have bought several wireless mice from logitech, but I was disappointed with this. If you don't want to keep the dongle in your laptop then its stored in the mouse under a plastic hatch where your palm is, however this is flimsy. The mouse is lightweight and feels cheap because the different panels move slightly making it feel a lot less sturdy than my previous logitech mice.

My wife has the v220 which she bought to replace the v450 I bought her, and although still lightweight is much cheaper and feels and looks like it will last longer. The NX60 which is older and cheaper than both of these feels better again, however I am on my 2nd NX60. Anyway the v450 died within a month of being purchased so I cannot recommend it. I gave it 2 stars because it feels comfortable, sometimes I take the mouse out of my drawer just to feel how nice it is in my hand. Certainly if you travel a lot then this mouse will not be sturdy enough for you.

Absolutely spot-on!

(5 out of 5) by Top Cat on Sep 29, 2009 (Somewhere in England, apparently)
Bought this especially for my MacBook and to use with any Mac's I encounter on my travels.

All I can say is, it's absolutely superior to the Apple Mighty Mouse in every way. It's totally ergonomic, so no matter whether I'm working with my left or right hand, it's feel the same on each. I can't get over how portable it is too - the tiny receiver as you have no doubt seen in the photo can actually be stored inside the mouses' battery compartment, which has a special holder for it. On top of this, the laser has been incredible - I can actually use this mouse on the quilt of my bed, which is quite bumpy and un-even due to the material patterns, yet it still works perfectly. Because of this, I can operate my computer from my bed, which is far more relaxing on the old back!

However, if you fancy using the mouse from quite a distance and the signal doesn't pick up, their is an exension cord and dock for the plug-in receiver, so you can work from a real distance away.

No set-up required; I just plugged in the receiver and the mouse was working instantly. Windows XP required a bit of installation, but once done it works fine too. I didn't even need to dip in the manual initially, but luckily once I did, their was nothing to oblivious I had missed out.

I recommend this to any computer user, but particularly for those that would benefit from it's compact nature, whether it be as a remote for Powerpoint presentations, Photoshop on the move, or as a comfortable alternative to your computers default mouse. If you're a Mac user, I'd refrain from getting the wrist-killing 'Mighty Mouse' and go for this little fella, because he's no mouse - he's a man!
