Stay clear of this printer if you have any sense!

(2 out of 5) by S. Wareham on Nov 25, 2009 (uk)
Ok so i read plenty of reviews before buying this printer so didnt think id be writing this. Where do i start? Positives..the scanner is excellent...negatives...i have had to repeat head cleaning god knows how many times as im getting crap printouts one after the other. Both epson ink and other compatibles have been the same. As you probably know head cleaning uses so much of your ink so im buying it and its gone before i have even printed anything. If you use a printer mainly for photos stay clear. Maybe im unlucky and have got a bad one but why even take the risk?

Epsom stylus SX200 colour all-in-one printer

I bought this printer a few weeks ago, and find it perfect for the writing I do. I recently read a review of this, stating that the inks run out very quickly, but I have not found this to be the case for me. They are easy to change, for someone who is not very mechanically minded, like myself! It is quick and not noisy. I have yet to use the scanner and photocopier, but I'm sure they will be easy to use. All in all, I was very pleased and found it very good value. Carol Ross

A waste of money

(1 out of 5) by Gembabes on Nov 7, 2009 (Loughborough)
It worked fine for a while, but when it came to replacing the cartridges it didn't even recognise genuine epson replacements (or the original cartridges) - so I had to throw the printer in the bin along with 10 cartridges that failed to work.

Nice one Epson.

Do not buy this product.

INK CARTRIDGE PROBLEM

(3 out of 5) by R. P. Allan on Nov 6, 2009 (Havant UK)
Bought to replace an Epson printer. Easy to set up and worked OK with the supplied ink although the noise it makes is unreal, like a train crash. The trouble came when replacing the ink with compatibles. It identified the first one as not genuine and made threats. Then it refused to print anything from the computer. The copier continued to produce good results. The troubleshooting page suggested reinstallation of the Epson Software. This gave problems so, after installing a complete set of compatible ink cartridges (which cost much, much less than Epson's) I did a complete removal of the program and did the set up again. Lo and behold the computer told me I had genuine Epson ink and it is now working perfectly but still noisily. It was pain doing a complete uninstall and then going through the set up again but the time will be made up by the saving of money with Jet Tec cartridges from Ink World.

Cheap to buy, costly to run

(1 out of 5) by J. A. Smith on Oct 27, 2009 (North Yorkshire, UK)
Black ink cartridge supplied with printer was empty after less than 40 pages; replaced it (a fiddly, irritating and time-consuming operation)and the next pages were full of vertical blemishes; cleaned the heads/nozzles as per instructions twice with no effect, carried on printing regardless (I desperately needed copies) and the second black cartridge emptied before I'd done another 70 copies. This works out at well over 6p a page, which is ridiculous.
And... the socket for USB connection is buried at the back and very difficult to access, especially if you have hands bigger than a midget.
And... it's so sloooooooooow to start up
And.... it's noisy as hell
And... paper jammed once and it was murder to clear.
On the plus side, print quality was fine. But i wouldn't waste your money on this.
