Excellent printer

(5 out of 5) by M. Thompson on Dec 4, 2009 (Surrey, England)
I have had this printer a month now and have used it a lot for both A4 colour and monochrome and A3 colour prints so much so that the original ink set is now getting low. The lighter inks seem to be the ones which are used more quickly. Bearing in mind the fact that the first set of cartridges are said to use quite a lot of ink in the initial priming of the printer, I do not find the ink usage to be excessive considering the amount of printing I have done. I intend to use a good quality continuous ink system on this printer which will reduce ink costs substantially. In selecting a printer I was anxious to find one which could reliably produce black and white prints without a colour cast and I am pleased to say that this printer can achieve this. The printer seems to me to be very well built and accepts a variety of media including a CD/DVD labelling function which I find very useful ( although I have not tried it yet!). The print quality itself is to my eyes first class in both colour and monochrome and the printer driver gives much better control of the output than its equivalent in my old Canon printer. Anyone looking for an A3 printer should give the Epson 2880 very serious consideration.

The best A3+ Printer on the market....

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Richard P. Slane on Nov 17, 2009 (Bexleyheath- Kent- U.K.)
I must admit that I am extremely prejudiced!!! I love only the best on the market!!! The quality of prints produced by this Photo R2880 Printer from Epson has to be seen to be believed!!! It sits elegantly besides my Epson V750 Pro Scanner on the same work-station with my new "Apple" iMac, and the quality this combination produces from my Nikon D3x is simply amazing!!!! Apple are an extremely professional company. Their "One to One" Classes- Classic!!!! So thank you Amazon for bring "Simply the best products" into my home, work, world!!!!! The proof of my work is in my prints!!!! The Epson Stylus Photo R2880 A3+ Photo Printer is perfection..... Strangely that name is on my V750 PRO Scanner!!!!

If I had a sledge hammer this printer would be in bits

(1 out of 5) by L. Wood on Oct 16, 2009
Firstly this printer gives excellent print results apart from that I wished I had never bought it and wouldn't recommend it at all. Art paper through single feed at top back misfeeds continually, is very labour intensive to actually insert and when it does misfeed, 50% of the time!!!! its a long process to correct and get it to feed again. You have to stand over the machine and just keep re feeding paper and re setting the print driver, very labour intensive and frustrating. I have recently read numerous blogs on this and it seems its a common problem with this machine, which Epson is turning a blind eye to. I have tried to adapt the feeder so the paper doesn't catch on a plastic lip (design fault) on the rear support, however the paper has continued to misfeed but less often!!! Also the print cartridges are tiny for such a large print printer another Epson trait of getting more money with no thought to the user you can hardly get a decent number of A3 prints out of a set of inks what are they thinking of? All I can say is that I have always bought Epson printers, I am in the process of up grading to a 7900 but thinking seriously of Canon now. Don't buy the R2880.

Epson R2880

(5 out of 5) by Nak Gray on Sep 28, 2009 (UK)
This is a great printer. Fast and perfect colour. The only problem is the price of ink with the size of cartridge.
The solution I have used is the continuous system from Lyson, it works very well and will pay for itself in
no time.

An OK printer

(5 out of 5) by John E. M. Lucie-smith on Aug 19, 2009 (London UK)
I use this to produce prints for exhibitions, from images made using a digital camera. It is easier to use than its predecessor, the Epson 2400. In particular, it keeps me better informed about remaining ink levels. When ink cartridges are replaced it gets up to speed quicker and seems to waste less ink. The prints it produces, on the largest paper size available, A3+, are of strikingly high quality. My one complaint is that the ink cartridges are too small and need to be replaced too often. However I think this is clearly the best printer of its kind currently on the market.
