Epson R2880 review
Excellent print quality - but software is very slow to process images compared to the Epson 2100 I used to have.
I have, at last, managed to print a true B&W image which must be attribted to the extra "Shades of black" cartridges.
Marginal reduction in cost of replacement cartridges.

An OK printer
I use this to produce prints for exhibitions, from images made using a digital camera. It is easier to use than its predecessor, the Epson 2400. In particular, it keeps me better informed about remaining ink levels. When ink cartridges are replaced it gets up to speed quicker and seems to waste less ink. The prints it produces, on the largest paper size available, A3+, are of strikingly high quality. My one complaint is that the ink cartridges are too small and need to be replaced too often. However I think this is clearly the best printer of its kind currently on the market.

Best Printer I have ever owned!
I have used this printer solid for the last 2 weeks. And up to now, I have had not one bit or bother with it!
The colour reproductions is as good as any "professional" print I have ever purchased. And the fine detail is 1st class. The only problem I have had, is getting the monitor calibrated to the printer. But thats easily solved, or you can buy the gear for doing it for you.
Its extremely easy to set up, and install. The software is good, but not totally straight forward, takes a little time to perfect the settings. But stick with it, because when your done its worth the wait.
As for ink consumption, I have printed about 20 4x6, and 15 A4 prints. And have used approximately half of the ink in some of the cartridges. Which I think is reasonable. You will find that you use a fair amount of black ink though, if you swap between the 2 blacks. Once you swap the black cartridge, it has to purge the remaining ink out of the reservoir. So dont swap until you have to, and get it all out the way in one go.
But for the price, I think its definately worth the it!

Epson Stlus Photo R2880
Excellent product I was a bit concerned regarding one review I read about the waste of ink due to recharging. there was acertain amount of recharging on start up but it soon settled down and is now running fine. Very good reproductions of photo's, colour can be ajusted in the preview prior to printing if so desired to match exactly the photo on the monitor. It's my third Epson printer and I have been pleased with them all.

Fabulous quality
Very easy to set up and the quality of print has to be seen to be believed. The middle quality setting is perfect so I cannot imagine ever having to use the best. Ink is expensive :(
