Mixed impression.
(4 out of 5) by fmma on Jul 21, 2008 (UK)I own this machine now for more than 6 weeks and never had such mixed feeling. There are many things which are very good such as:
- Keyboard, nearly full size. Best writing feeling I ever had
- Screen, high resolution, clear and sharp. Excellent contrast.
- Large hard-drive.
- Express and SD slot.
- alu shell.
However, like other companies, they didn't design it through and stopped before the finish.
- sluggish slow processor (VIA), despite the high clock rate (1.2 or 1.6 GhZ) poor performance
- old graphic engine (VIA chrome)
- Neither the VISTA home nor the SUSE really is suitable for the machine.
- Not much info compared to Asus
- Not widely sold and expensive
- Screen resolution causes tiny fonts.
- Expensive
Yes, I love the machine but it needs lots of tweaking.
I bought the vista model because this was the only model in stock.
To get a responsive system you have to replace VISTA with either XP (necessary drivers on the HP webpage) or Linux (not SUSE).
Main problem with linux is the support of the wifi (can be solved) and the openchrome driver.
In my opinion Xubuntu or Ubuntu are good choices (you find easy information how to tweak the system for the hp 2133).
I was able to get the 3G USB modem working (white E220).

Asus EEE Killer!
(5 out of 5) by Mr. C. Muldoon on May 21, 2008I bought one of these, got the vista basic version with 2GB Ram as I wanted the fastest possible operating speed with vista. I originally was set on getting an Asus EEE, but found about this and decided to wait. My friend has the EEE 4GB and although its great, this is more of a replacement for a full laptop. It looks and feels great, and has a large hard-drive so I can use it without compromise. Overall delighted with my purchase!!

Great machine....!!!!!!!!

My only concern would be buying it with Vista as it'll be too slow. I've got the Linux version and it's just the job, no problems at all. it's easy set-up was quick, read in within hour on wireless and ready to use.
Build quality is amazing and its so easy to use even if you dont know Linux, its great. I've never used it before and had no problems getting used to it.
Don't be foolish in thinking this is a games machine nor is it great with graphics processing but for anything else it's simply superb.....
