Great Value but lacking features

(4 out of 5) by David Bell on Nov 19, 2008 (Leeds, England)
This is a great one box cinema system, especially for the price and is a massive upgrade on the sound coming from your television. The first few times it is used, the subwoofer sounds too tight and low bass seems to be missing, but once used for a few hours, this loosens up and the bass is pretty good. The sleek design is great if you have it on display, and DVD playback with upscaling is very good. Speakers are all quite small and unobtrusive, but do sound pretty good. Rear speakers look especially good hanging upside down in the top corners of the room (if you can engineer a way of fixing them). I do however have a few gripes.
1: Each time you turn the system to Aux, it automatically defaults to "disco" mode (where sound is output equally on all channels) and there appears to be no setting to change this default.
2: There is only one auxilliary twin R/L coax input, no optical input, and no 5.1 audio input therefore not brilliant with Xbox 360 or Wii (Or PS3 probably). This also means that you can only connect one external input source to the unit and it will not be compatible if you plan to upgrade to Blu Ray.
3: The speakers are pre wired with colour coded connectors. This is just annoying, as it makes hiding wires in plaster and behind skirting boards more difficult, and I had to extend the wires because they weren't long enough for the rear speakers in my living room.

Excellent no nonsense small room home theater set up..

(4 out of 5) by Shaikh Abdul Saleem on Oct 8, 2008
It does what it says on the box. Simple plug and play. Easy to set up and elegant design.

On the audio front, a major upgrade to the sound coming out of the tv speakers. Output can be Dolby digital as well as DTS although on normal stereo, it can output Dolby Pro Logic II. There are also preset sound modes.

Decent DVD picture quality especially with the HDMI out. Best thing is that it can play divx files directly from your thumb drive. No need to burn dvds for downloaded video. Transfer to thumb drive and plug and play.
Good 'night' mode for late night viewing.
At less than 120ukp.. no complaints whatsoever.

highly recommended..
