Canon IXUS 85 Review - July 09

(3 out of 5) by Christine Erlam on Jul 23, 2009 (Cheshire)
My previous camera - a Canon IXUS suffered water damage on holiday - my water bottle leaked in my bag - and consequently did not work at all. On returning from hols, the natural replacement was the latest Canon IXUS model. It seems OK but am disappointed by the size of the viewing screen which is somewhat smaller than my previous camera. In hindsight I should have done more research before buying a replacement.

Great little camera

Very sharp, bright colours and loads of extras. Very simple to use for great quality photos and great value for money.

cannon 85

(5 out of 5) by Mr. John J. Feeney on Jul 19, 2009 (UK)
Had a Cannon Ixus 500 before , that met a untimely death on holiday this year due to my own stupidity and I have always been happy with this model. I bought the 85 a couple of months ago and have never looked back, with clear images every time. Its a great camera for any one especially for the point and shoot person like myself.

I would also recomend at least a 8GB memory card for it, as the one supplied with it will only last you about 10 pictures when set on high quality.

Excellent value for money

(4 out of 5) by C. Stoss on Jul 19, 2009
This camera is small for easy travelling and has enough functions to take any sort of artistic or tourist shot.
My only complaint is that without a stand or a perfectly still platform, the night picture quality is very poor.

The perfect point & shoot

I bought this camera to replace a trusty Pentax Optio 4mp camera that went walkies somewhere and I've been really pleased with the results so far. It's tiny, well built and takes great pictures - for the money, what more can you ask for?
