XTREMELY GOOD

The whole thing is amazing! Ok so there is know phono input but with a scart to phono converter you can use the scart out as a tv audio input! With Bravia tv's you get the bravia sync, though this isn't the greatest option as it doesn't always work. It will still sync with your Tv! VERY GOOD BUY WE HAVE 2SCART TO FOUR PHONO ADAPTOR RGB PLUS COMPOSITE
Excellent value and multi Region

Bought the system (following good reviews) from Premier Av Centre £139.00 incl post, which was considerably cheaper than anywhere else I could find on the net.It was labelled on the unit and delivery box that it was multi region. Installation was straightforward the rear speakers were spliced onto existing speaker cable that was already under wooden floor and work fine. Using it with Sky +HD via optical cable sky handset adjusts volume in DVD mode not in TV mode (Toshiba 42"Lcd).Sound is great and excellent DVD picture. Casino Royale was superb,I'm sure there are other nuances and improvements I haven't found yet, but will leave well alone now until I become more familiar with the unit.

I'm considering purchasing this... Does it have a mini-jack audio in? I want to play MP3's directly from my laptop! If not, is there a way around this?! Thanks..
Speakers Aren't Quite Synched

The only problem I have with this system is the fact that if you are watching something on your television, you have to turn the sound volume on your television all the way down and rely solely on the surround-sound speakers. They're good, but they're not great. Other speakers I've seen easily synch with the television's sound, but not here.

1) If you want to play TV sound through this system, just put a SCART cable from your TV to the back of the unit and select "TV" function from the list.
2) Buy from Pixmania if you want DivX enabled
3) All DAV-DZ models have similar specs, the only difference is size of speakers and some of the models ending with ("W") have wireless rear speakers. These speakers also have wires for two speakers and a box in the center.
4) Dont forget to select suitable sound mode using "Dec Mode", it makes lot if difference
5) As a previous reviewer has pointed out, you can adjust all speaker volumes including subwoofer after autocalibration is done.
What Sony could do to make these appeal even more:
1) Make all players Divx enabled
2) Let DivX play back from USB
3) Built in Bluetooth and iPod dock
4) Make the unit slightly smaller, it does not fit most stands in depth
5) The mains wire could be detachable.
This is a best system considering value/quality. Dont look further.
