Excellent camera.
I've had one of these for about 3 months and it's an excellent performer. It's easy to carry about and use. Also very good at picking out the detail of whatever you're shooting at.

Ixus 970 - Good results byt a few problems
The pictures produced were generally fine - but like the previous model - it had problems focusing in anything other than good light. It is a difficult camera to feel secure with as there isn't anything to hold on to - but it was still a producer of fabulous photos. I returned it because I hate flash photography so I need a camera with better results in low light.

Highly recommend
Wanted a small digital to fit in a pocket or bag, so we didn't miss an interesting photograph when the SLR seemed too bulky and inconvenient to carry.
Researched extensively, hoping for a cheaper model, but the reviews we found via Google persuaded us, and haven't regretted it.
Easy to use, sharp, clear results, plenty of detail, closeup and distance, even from a moving car.
No complaints, highly recommend.

Ixus 970
I've just taken this camera to the Maldives as a pocket, point and shoot, back up and the results were superb. Vibrant colours, pin sharp focus, easy to handle, great results. The image stability is brilliant. I'd moved away from Canon to a disappointing Fuji and am so glad I came back to the fold. Excellent camera.

Great camera
I bought this camera a few weeks ago, partially based on the excellent reviews it had received from other buyers.
I hadn't used a digital camera before so it did take a couple of hours for me to go through the instruction book (which is on a DVD) just to work out how to do things but once I had a few basics I could take photos and films very easily and review them very easily. If I have a critisism is that the paper instruction book should have just a little bit more in it just as it's a bit easier to access than a DVD as I kept forgetting how to do certain things (like set the timer so it can take a picture of you, it's easy to do but I needed reminding). If you've used a digital camera before you'll be fine.
I was certainly not disappointed, the camera is easy to use and it takes excellent photos.
I would really recommend that you buy an adaptor so you can plug the camera memory card directly into your PC, they're only about £3 and it saves loads of hassle with cables. Also I'm a bit cautious about accidental damage so I bought a hard case at the same time, there's some good ones to be had off eBay.
The software that stitches together photos so you can make panoramas (that comes with the camera)is lots of fun.
So overall I can recommend this camera.
The only problem I still have is my wife hates having her photo taken!
