This TV is excellent. I just got mine delivered today. The quality is excellent and so is the audio. However i did not know this TV does support 1080p! i was well suprised! I now watch HD Movies and play my Xbox 360 at 1080p setting! Excellent or what. All i need now is my surround sound haha

Excellent Plasma TV for the price

LG 50PG3000 - 50" Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV - With Freeview

Excellent picture quality for the price. I bought it from Dixon's a month ago and the picture quality is awesome. Standard definition TV picture is as good as the HD picture if not slightly better. Close up pictures really look nice. BBC/Channel 4 news gives a very good picture. DVD's are superb to watch which was the primary reason for buying this display but pleasantly surprised to get an awesome standard TV picture from our roof top aerial. It is only 720p but I would recommend this for the moment and my advice is - do not waste money on 1080p sets yet. Upscaled DVD picture from our Samsung Home cinema is simply outstanding over a HDMI cable. Just watched the Planet Earth DVD and the quality of the picture is truly dramatic.

Designing of the panel is very good. Looks good in the smallish room in our flat. I thought 50" could be bigger for our room but even 60" would be alright after watching this TV! We only sit 6 feet from the TV and the picture is not grainy at all apart from the old second rated DVDs for which you would have to sit a bit far from the TV. Demonstration in the showroom is not great and I expected a grainy picture from the standard TV signal but in reality the SD picture is better than DVD!

Sound could be better but manageable. I use surround sound for DVDs which is fantastic. You could use optical connection to get the TV audio from the surround sound system but did not try it yet.

I would recommend this TV for any one thinking of 50" Plasma. 720p is good enough for the moment. Cricket and football you will not get out even for a cup of tea!
