Panasonic has let me down with this product.

(1 out of 5) by Daniel Thompson on Oct 4, 2009 (Lancaster,Lancs)
I have had Panasonic products over many years and always been very pleased with the result. This is a company with an excellent reputation for its products which was a factor in me choosing this item.

On a positive note the picture quality is very good and I do not have any complaints in this area.I purchased the product on 15th January 2009. On 10th June 2009 I discovered I could not record or play any DVDS including pre-recorded DVDS. I contacted Panasonic who referred me to my nearest agent to take the item for repair which was of course still in the guarantee period. The DVD recorder was duly repaired and I collected it a week later.

Today the exact same problem has arisen so a further round trip of 50 miles will be required and I will be without the product for a further week.Needless to say I am very disappointed with this situation as I have had the product less than 9 months and a second repair is required.

Another class product from Panasonic

(5 out of 5) by Mr. W. D. C. Thomas on Jul 21, 2009 (U.K.)
Having bought most of my entertainment products from Panasonic over the
years, the DMR-EZ48VEBK combination is certainly no exception to their
excellent, reliable, top quality products of the past.It was good to see such a big firm such as Panasonic, was still catering for the now"Old Hat" technology!! All in all,I must highly recommend this cutting edge, quality
product, to anyone after a DVD/VCR Combination, must add!even the VHS playback was even better than ever before!!!.

Does what it says more or less

(3 out of 5) by Jolyon Oxley on Aug 27, 2009 (UK)
I did not expect to have to buy another video recorder but like many other reviewers I bought this to copy old VHS tapes to DVD. All my previous VCRs had been made by Panansonic so I chose this one. Like all machines it has its good and irritating points but by and large it seems to perform well - after three weeks anyway. I agree with another reviewer that it does not track all tapes very well but some of mine are pretty old now - even dating back to the 80s I think. It also seems to exaggerate drop out on some tapes particularly at the top and bottom of the screen e.g around subtitles. But it's easy to use at least for copying tapes. I have not used it for recording off air yet.

Easy to use, and does it all

(5 out of 5) by Happy Customer on Aug 23, 2009 (UK)
I'm glad I decided to buy this machine(even with some of the negative F/B thats written)within 1 hr of connecting this combo to my TV via HDMI I had tested Videos,DVD's,recording from sky HD & tested the VCR to DVD coping feature, all thankfully worked fine(upscaling looks good)the combo is virtually silent,it switches between DVD&VCR nearly instantly, the built in free-view seems to be better than my G10 panasonic TV the manual was hardly used but when I did it was simple enough to find the relevant information,it plays copied disks that were burnt on PC's& other DVD recorders,it remains fairly cool even after burning 5 hrs of family vid's(its in a open AV unit)it records HD footage from my HD camcorder at a press of a button and the recorded images look pretty damn good. that's all I can think of at the mo, so as you can guess I'm happy with my new toy(brought predominantly to back-up all family voids)so don't be put off bye the neg feedback some people have written
