I bought this expecting a high quality freeview dvd/vhs recorder. It seemed exactly what I wanted and I like Panasonic dvd products. It replaced my JVC vhs recorder/dvd player and a Pansonic DMRES freeview/dvdrecorder, both excellent. The new Panasonic box had very poor image quality, lacking details and with very washed out colours. I hope this box was defective and it does not represent the quality of Panasonic's new offering. Amazon's excellent customer service took it back. I would advise seeing one of these in action before buying.

Love the idea of this and really simple to use - even for a technophobe like me. However after 9 months the dvd player refuses to read any dvds. I have had this problem with a previous panasonic dvd recorder - so will not be purchasing a panasonic again.

The item was received on the promised date and it was well packed and had no damage. The instructions for connecting the many and varied wires, cables etc were easy to follow. My only reservation was when I went to open the box was a label saying it should only be used with a digital television. I connected the Panasonic DVD Recorder and VCR because I have a digital box connected to my television and everything is working.
When I chose the item from your Amazon Site there was no mention of the digital television.

This has proven to be an excellent piece of kit. The VHS player seems to work very well and DVD playback / freeview reception has been faultless. It has HDMI output for easy connection. Comes with 3 x aerial leads so you can connect it with equipment that has either male or female type outputs. You get a Phono (Y/W/R) lead to connect to TV so make sure you also purchase whatever lead you need for TV connection. It is slow to start up if you choose the power saving feature. An analogue tuner would have finished off this device, but Panasonic felt it necesary to omit one. Otherwise I am extremely happy with this.

Excellent value, easy to set up and operate, stunning quality of recording and playback and the usual superb Panasonic quality. Does what is says on the tin!
