Best picture of any LCD TV I've seen yet!

(5 out of 5) by P. Kerr on May 27, 2008 (Scotland)
This TV picture is better than any other LCD I have seen so far. Before buying from Amazon, I went to see this in my local store. It was next to a very high spec plasma set and the picture on this Panasonic TV was miles ahead of the plasma and any other LCD TV in the store. Most noticable is the contrast ratio and the black detail level. I played 'Casino Royal' blu-ray DVD on this TV and you have to see it to beleive it! The 24p playback setting makes a huge difference. I have also used this TV for PS3 gaming and it is amazing for games like GTA IV, even though that game only runs at 720i. One of the very few PS3 games that runs at full resolution is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. This runs at the full 1080i and is very impressive. The sound is also great on this TV. If your going to buy an LCD TV, I would recommend spending the extra pennies for this one.

Wow this is the Biz

(5 out of 5) by M. C. Peck on Jul 6, 2008 (U.K.)

Panasonic TX-37LZD800 - 37" Widescreen Viera 1080P Full HD LCD TV - With Freeview. Arrived last thursday, A breeze to set up, then a bit of my tinkering with picture and sound levels. All i can say is WOW what a picture, also the sound is one of the best i have heard, i thought my 3 year old 32" JVC was good.

Also a major + is, Amazon were by far the cheapest, beating Curry`s by a mile.

If you are looking to buy a 37" TV, GET THIS ONE !!

Hot Off The Press

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Giles Margersion on May 1, 2008 (Surrey UK)
Just took delivery of this TV.I must be one of the first as most dealers are saying it will still be another month before this TV is widely available. I scoured the land to find one and Amazon must be the first dealer to have received stock!

I am thrilled, I have looked at the LZD85 and the LZD800 is definately worth the extra few pennies. It looks awesome and the additional clear screen, looks, HDMI input and sound enhancements make it worth the wait. I did extensive research before buying this telly and chose it for the picture quality. it as good as any plasma I considered. I wanted no bigger than 37 inch and the market is tight if you want full HD. The picture through Sky+ is fantastic and HD is being installed next week. That will take this screen to a whole new level, but the picture now is better that my previous 100Hz TV, crystal clear with no flickering or shadowing that I have seen on so many rivals. I've got a vcr, Bose DVD entertainment system, Sky+ and Wii hooked up at the moment and there is still room for loads more toys!! And with a photo card slot also included and facility to hook up the PC I don't think I could want any more. This TV looks stunning yet subtle and doesn't take over the room, which keeps my wife happy as she was resistant to a bigger screen size. All in all DON'T buy anything else in this size range unitl you have looked at this, you will only regret it!

Excellent Picture .... Superb Sound

(5 out of 5) by Neil Strong on Sep 1, 2008 (Northumberland, UK)
I did a lot of research before opting for this. 100Hz scan was high on my priorities. Setup was a doddle - switch it on and off it goes! Connectivity is great with 3 HDMI on the back, one on the side, plus 2 SCART, Even on standard freeview, the picture quality is one of the best I've ever seen on LCD and on HD it is outstanding! The sound quality is also excellent. Highly recommended!!

Unbeatable

(5 out of 5) by j.v on Sep 3, 2008
The 37LZD800 is unbeatable in its class. The built in freeview quality is outstanding and thats with only a 5/10 digital broadcasting strength here.

When hooked up to a bd30 blu-ray player it reminds you why you happily paid £900 for it, that said though if you are buying an lcd to make the most of 24p(blu ray movies only) then this tv and all lcd tvs struggle with the pull down. I have some annoying jittering and borders on moving objects, which panasonic say they can't fix but they have sorted it on the top end plasmas! Its still worth 5 stars though because it performs exellently on every other level.

The sound, WOW how do they do it you just don't need a secondary sound system with this tv.
I love it
