Good for the price
(4 out of 5) by Umph on Jan 31, 2009I purchased the Panasonic DVD player LS83EB-K as a Christmas present.
Aside from stunningly fast delivery the player does everything it should.
It has a clever folding mechanism allowing it to fit into a car headset portable device.
The vehicle motion and odd bump from the road surface didn't cause the DVD to skip and the screen size is sufficient for viewing from a sitng position.
It does take some time for the device to discover a new disk, and can seem slow to select menu options, the drive is noisy on start up but seems to settle once it's playing.
I would reccommend this as a reasonable purchase for children, where blistering performance isn't necessary and if it gets broken it's not going to break the bank.

be careful
(1 out of 5) by Mr. J. E. J. Adams on Feb 17, 2009 (uk)be careful when ordering is listed twice once as ls83 and again as ls83eb-k the item you will recieve is the dvd-LS83 and cant play all formats as listed like divx (seems to be they have listed the specs for dvd-LS86)
