Being a Sony fan and wanting to buy a a portable DVD player as a Christmas present for a 7 yr old (girl of course as it's pink!) This obviously fit the bill. I did toy with getting one of those own brand ones from Argos or wherever as they are half the price but only for a nano second! It goes without saying that the quality of the build, the picture e.t.c. are second to none and it's very stylish looking too. You will find it is nice and 'thin' compared to the cheap own brand ones and a bargain at this price. If you are thinking of getting a portable DVD then forget the cheap ones, this is what you want.

(5 out of 5) by A. Gray on Feb 1, 2009Purchased this Sony portable DVD player for a christmas present, spent months deciding if I should buy a cheaper brand. I looked at several cheap ones they were terrible quality, felt bulky and sounded awful. This Sony model was very compact, felt very sturdy, sounded and looked very good. I would highly recommend this dvd player and am so glad I waited to buy this rather than a much cheaper brand. Added bonus was the pink colour which of course my daughter loves.

The controls on the player itself are easy to use and you don't have to use the remote control - so that's one less thing to take out with you. The fact that you can charge it before you go and then have 5 hours of playback is brilliant. The screen is just the right size and the sound and picture quality is superb. The was a brilliant buy and I (and my daughter too) would recommend it to anyone.

Portable DVD

There isn't a car mount as such but we get by quite happily. 2 headphone sockets are fine. Remote control is useful and the in car charger (lighter socket) is useful. We find it meets our needs perfectly.
