However when trying a smooth pan action with the fluid head the legs give a little at the start and end making the shot jerky.
A little more beef in construction would have eliminated this.
Buy a more sturdy tripod if you want professional camera movement.
A fluid head is only as good as the legs it stands on.

A fairly good tripod, suitable for most applications.

There is no slackness in the leg joints or in the head operation. The pan handle is actually a remote control, which offers a very useful feature that is not offered on the camera it self which is the ability to select a slow zoom. The slow zoom has proved to be useful and it looks quite professional on the screen. There is a short connecting lead on the remote that slots into a socket on the Handycam, I have a Sony HDR-XR500 model and it works faultlessly on the tripod.

The remote control arm is superb, lets you control all the action with ease.
The base can wobble if you have the pan/tilt controls too tight, but just loosen them and it simply flows.
Very adjustable, very classy and a very good quality Sony product that will compliment your new Handycam purchase!
Even comes with a nifty carry case.
