Problem with new camera
(3 out of 5) by R. H. George on Apr 7, 2008 (UK)As described by other owners on avforums, dpreview, etc. there is a problem with this camera. There is a band of colour (some say red, mine is dirty green) down the left side of the frame when taking pictures in low light. I have contacted Fuji UK and they say Japan are aware and hope to have a solution by mid April, which might involve returning the camera.
Also, FinePix Viewer which comes with the camera has given me problems downloading pictures, so I have removed it and download using Explorer. At this stage no frame/file numbers are shown under the thumbnails, but they do appear when the files are saved to the computer.
You can not charge the battery while in the camera, but you can buy an extra adaptor to fit in the camera in place of the battery if you want to use it from mains electricity.

The colours were distorted, especially in reduced lighting, such as inside a church. I returned the camera to Camera Box and after a very annoying two months was relieved to receive a refund. I would not deal with Camera Box again.

life in a barrel

The lens perfomance at the wide angle setting gives results worse than a single use plastic lens - the complete inability to render a straight line as anything other than a barrel shape made me return this camera. I have used Fuji cameras for 20 years including the previous digital models - this is the worst. avoid it. Back to my Samsung NV20

Amazing little camera

The pictures it takes are amazing and the auto mode is excellent. I just wish it took MPEG4 videos. If it did that I'd ask Amazon for a 6th star.
