Great Camera

(5 out of 5) by Jeremy Tanner on Mar 26, 2009 (Reading, Berkshire)
For the money I cannot fault this camera. It is easy to use and the picture quality is excellent.

Not Fujifilm's best effort

(1 out of 5) by Ian Shaw on Feb 8, 2009 (Warwickshire, UK)
Bought this for my daughter at Christmas and, although feature packed and superficially a nice camera, I wouldn't recommend it.

Within hours of its first use the mode selector dial had mal-functioned and was either not changing mode or giving a completely different one to that selected.

I've had Fujifilm cameras for years and always found them reliable and robust so this came as something of a surprise. Closer inspection (and something I missed when reviewing it before purchase) shows that the selector dial actually overhangs the side of the camera and it may be this that makes it vulnerable.

Had to return it for refund (Amazon service in this respect is excellent - the 1 star is for the camera, not for Amazon). Replaced with another Fujifilm camera - a J120 exclusive to Comet (but very similar to the J150 available from Amazon) - which is excellent and has had no problems.

J50 FinePix reveiw

(4 out of 5) by Mr. Peter Stevenson on Apr 11, 2009 (Kingswinford)
Excellent little camers, great battery life and takes realistic shots.
No veiw finder however the large screen good enough even in sunny conditions.

Overall very pleased as it operates quickly (inc flash).

A great camera if you just want to point and shoot, and a fair selection of advanced shooting options.

Just one reservation

(4 out of 5) by K. J. Norman on May 11, 2009 (Gloucestershire, England)
As I was returning to photography for the first time for 45 years, I read the Amazon reviews of several models and took advice from a professional. This is a fine camera, very good results and excellent value for money. One quibble: as noted by another reviewer, the scene selection wheel protrudes at the side of the casing; this makes selection easier but it can also cause the wheel to be jogged to a different position while in its carrying case. On two occasions I have found myself making a video, not taking a picture. So you need to pre-check each time you shoot, but this has become a simple discipline which does not spoil enjoyment of the camera.

Brilliant

(5 out of 5) by C. Gifford on Apr 6, 2009 (Scotish Isles)
This is an amazingly brilliant little camera, so easy to use. A discription of the button you select is displayed on screen so you know what it means, takes lovely pictures. Simply the best.
