good camera but dissapointed with the image stabilization feature

good camera overall. great image quality outdoors, indoors still good but not as great as outside. however the image stabilization feature just hasn't came on and/or doesn't work its very frustrating as i was looking forward to this feature. if anyone has any ideas how to fix this i would be very grateful

I was persuaded, if thats the right word, to buy this particular camera as it had excellent reviews on the Gadget show & photography websites. So far I have been very pleased with it. From pictures of my baby Grandaughter, to action shots of my son racing his motorbike, it has proved more than capable. The instant red eye removal is simply brilliant. It fits easily into a handbag or pocket, and the charge on the battery lasts a long time. I'm looking forward to going on holiday so I can test this lovely little camera.
