Very good

(4 out of 5) by Trixy on Dec 20, 2008 (United Kingdom)
I am very pleased with my new camera. The 8 megapixels produce nice pictures and it is very compact. The delivery was also quite speedy for Amazon's normal Super Saver, which was a nice bonus.

I have just a few negative comments about this product:
1. There are a lack of features - a lot of shooting modes but not much except from that (like being able to shoot in black and white, vivid etc)
2. It is a bit inconvenient accessing the scene modes, but I'm sure I will get used to it
3. When you delete photos, the image you want to delete gets replaced with a blue screen which pixelates out the picture. It takes a long time for the actual photo to be deleted
4. The product picture is very sneaky - there is a raised panel where the screen is, further bulking the camera out. The display photo does not show this, so be warned! It's not quite as thin as it seems.

Those points aside, I have to say the camera is very impressive with the brushed front and despite the raised back, is still rather light and compact. It is outstanding value for money and truly a good camera. The lack of picture modes like the black and white can be compensated with some good photo-editing technology, if you want those extra finishes on your photos.

Overall, a good point and shoot camera, perhaps suited better for people who just want to take photos, want a good price and don't care for those extra bells and whistles.

(I would suggest that you buy the fujifilm 2GB SD card - it gives about 800 photos even with 8MP turned on and I have had absolutely no problems with it. Great value for the price.)

Simple, Easy and Quaility

(5 out of 5) by S. Latif on Jan 22, 2009
I've recently got this and the more expensive Fujifilm 12 million pixel f50fd, and I would have to say although the J10 lacks some features such as face detection, its photos are much clearer and the camera is a lot simpler to use. I'd definitely recommend it for a fuss free easy to use camera.

So impressed and I got it for a crazy good price!!!

I bought this camera in Nov 08 at which time another retailer had a great deal on it. Since that time I have been discovering all its wonderful features, like movie capture, landscape, flash on and natural capture. What's fabulous about this camera is that Fuji have thought of all the conditions you may want to shoot in such as party, museum and fireworks. There are a range of selections to help take a very clear vivid picture. The quality of photo is amazing and all features work wonderfully.

The only fault that it has is sometimes photos are blurred which happens if you have the wrong feature on and it takes a second to take a photo so you can not click and click very quickly so movement shots are better if recorded. A 2G card goes a long way with some 400 and something photos. Im happy and it has bought loads of fun memories. Also my younger sister can use it with easy so its good for 9+.

Very good...

This is a very reasonable camera. The specification is impressive and the price is even better. The camera copes well generally allround and is incredibly simple to use. The interface is very simple and self explanatory. The back screen is LCD at 2.5 inches and produces a fantastic picture and true to life photo. The camera looks very slick and is nothing complicated.

Fantastic Pics

(5 out of 5) by Boudicca on Jun 16, 2009 (London, England)
Having wanted to replace my old Olympus Camedia for a while, which was my first digital camera and took (and still takes) fantastic pictures (at 2mp) I bought an Olympus MJU 1040 - to my disapointment, whatever settings I used, the colour quality was/is awful and whilst it takes great indoor pictures the outdoor pictures were often blurred. As for colour balance, the colours were all off and so, with much ado I returned it. My next thought was to get a digital camera with a viewfinder. I went for the Canon Ixus 80is as it has just this. However, once purchased I soon discovered that, fine as the screen may be, the view finder was/is useless - no better than a pinhole, and in fact, if one wants a dc with viewfinder the next best thing costs well out of my budget and isn't small. In despair and with accessories for the Olympus having eaten into my budget (including an XD picture card which can only be used in Olympus and Fuji Cameras) I looked into buying a Fuji - I bought the J10 on the basis of Amazon reviews (though I bought the camera from Tesco for its 28 days no fuss return! - sorry Amazon). No, it didn't have a viewfinder but yes it was in my budget and no one had given it a one, two or even three star (as they had for the others). I've only had the camera for a few days but my goodness what fantastic pictures it takes - the colours are bright and lifelike, it is virtually impossible to take a picture out of focus as a warning light flashes up -there's the usual options of portrait/landscape etc but what I like best is the manual setting where I can set the exposure level +/-2 (couldn't do this on the Olympus). I'm so pleased with it I can't stop snapping; my XD card means I can hold loads of pictures; it's great on the video front too (sound it a bit hazy but that's to be expected) and whilst it does take a split second to focus on playback, this is amusing rather than frustrating (and doesn't happen on computer). I would thus highly recommend this product.
