Impressive BT wireless

(4 out of 5) by mh-force1 on Apr 24, 2008 (UK)
Tested this player with the Bluetooth headset and was very impressed with it. The headset was working when I was 20m away and I could change tracks, play, stop and volume on the BT wireless headset. The player feels very light and well made with a larger screen than Nano. However I still love the size of the Nano and would have prefered if this was smaller and more Nano sized with the wireless functionality. It also has drag and drop and better file compatability. Price should be dropped to under £110 for it to be competetive.

A great way to free your music and more

(5 out of 5) by A. Clarkson on Sep 7, 2008
Sony have created an excellent product here. On buying an MP3 player you would expect the player to be of a high standard and that the headphones supplied would just be an afterthought but the headphones supplied are of great quality, both the in ear wired and bluetooth ones. I was pleasantly surprised with the bluetooth headphone, they manage to produce a nice clear sound with plenty of bass and treble. And with the various equaliser settings it is easy to get the level that suits the listener. They are also more than just headphones for the Walkman, they can be paired to many other devices including a bluetooth enabled mobile phone so can be used as a hands free device which when paired to both Walkman and phone will pause the music or video and take the call with you able to resume from where u left off afterwards. They can be connected to your computer and used with skype, or instead of normal headphones. And can also be used with your PS3 for voice and video chat. The headphones do seem a little flimsy at first but don't let that fool you as mine have been folded up packed in various bags and come out unscathed. The remote controls on the headphones are also simple and easy to use.

For the Walkman itself it has a very intuitive menu that is easy to navigate that even your ipod using friends will be able to use to easily browse your music, video and picture collections. Another great feature is the drag and drop style of adding content to your player, again just so easy and intuitive to use. I use mine with napster and have to say that the combination is great. It has really helped me to find new and different music and sample songs and artists i might have shied away from. It also connects to a PS3 allowing for the transfer of music through that. It can also connect to other bluetooth devices such as in car stereos and hifi's.

The video quality that this walkman can produce is also fantastic, making it easy and enjoyable to watch your favourite shows or content on a train or alike to help pass the time of those long journeys which with the battery life is great not having to worry about it dying on you. And with the adjustable brightness is easy to see in high light conditions.

So for around £100 it would make an excellent purchase, if your worried about space then if your one who constantly adds music it is easy to delete music aswell or for a little extra the higher capacity 8gb version may be the one for you.

brilliant sound

(5 out of 5) by Mr. O. J. Lewis on Sep 24, 2008 (birmingham uk)
I think there is more stylish mp3's around, such as the ipod range or the samsungs, however you cannot beat this unit for practicality, battery life or most importantly, sound.(Not to say this isn't stylish or doesn't look good - it does!)
The wireless earphones are great to use for the gym or running. They are really easy to get working also.
I think the unit itself is a nice size - not too small or large and it has a very solid, well made feel to it.
The choice of the two types of earphones provided is great. The sound of the normal earphones as apposed to the wireless ones id unrivalled in what ive experienced.
Ive had an ipod and a samsung previously and the battery life compared to the sony is extremely poor.

Sony knock spots of Apple

(5 out of 5) by R. Pieters on Aug 14, 2008 (Harlow Essex)
This is my 4th Sony Mp3 following owning the original Ipod mini and shuffle from Apple .I tried the Sony NWA 1000 which I found a vast impovement in sound quality. This is an upgrade from that .The 4GB model of this Mp3 player is sexy , slim and stylish ,around the same size of a credit card , with modifications borrowed from the ipod nano , it's , so easy and quick to navigate and use as an MP3 player with Windows media drag and drop, as opposed to the now defunct moody, sonic stage.I've been impressed with this including the album artwork ,and exceptional sound quality ! A battery life that goes on and on. I for one stick with the underated sony products as opposed to the overated Apple ipod. If you are after a new MP3 player consider the Sony NWZA826k 4GB, it's economic and from a leading reputable name in the industry SONY.
